This should be what they call a "floating drum". What this means is that there are no bearings as an intergral part of the unit. There are 2 retaining screws that are there to aid in assembly and to reduce some noise. If they are still there you will need a big screwdriver and to set the e brake. If it slips even once, Stop, go to the parts store and (usually they have some kind of loaner program for tools) you want to borrow an "impact driver" and "#3 phillips head socket" for the impact driver. You use this by placing the driver into the screw and hitting with a hammer a couple of times. This will usuall do it and come right out. You do not need to "impact" them back in. Screw it down tight, that's all! Make sure the e brake has been released and it should come right off. If it doesn't, smack the face of the drum with the hammer and this should be the final step..... Let me know if you need anything further like instructions for the brake shoes or... anything.

What happens if your rear stabilizer bar breaks on my 2002 Kia spectra?

the stabilizer bar is to help with cornering and heavy wind gusts to keep the vehicle from the feel of floating. it is not a huge problem but can lead to one depending where it broke, if its just the link pins easy and cheap fix. but if the bar its self is broken if can possibly hit suspension or brake lines so check the movement of it

How do you change the rear bearings on a 2002 kia spectra 4dr? More specifically, do they need to be pressed? I did the front, and they needed to be pressed.

you can do them your self you just use a flat screw driver and a hammer place the rear drum on two small 2x4s and you can tap the bearing and race out. to put them back in you can use a over size socket just smaller the the hole in the drum to knock the bearing back in they make a tool for like 20 bucks at any auto parts store to take them out and put them back in

2002 KIA spectra exhaust manifold

The exhaust manifold is right there as soon as you open hood , first disconnect neg batt cab, then jack up car remove bolts that hold pipe to manifold together , unplug any o2 that is in the way and that could get damaged. now from the top take shield off then take manifold bolts out. you might want to spray them with pb blaster and let set a few hours sense exhaust bolts love to break. Remember to use new gaskets installing new one.
