This arm is connected to the rear axle and the level sensor, the arm itself should only be replaced if it was broken some how. This arm moves up and down with suspension travel and if you load the vehicle or pull a trailer if tells the Control Module the level of the vehicle and it will adjust with air to the air shocks as it sees needed, to keep your vehicle level and safe.

Just replaced inside fuel pump and now low fuel light is on even though just filled tank? Thank You

The you may have bent the fuel level sensor arm or the fuel pump module is defective, this assumes you put a new fuel level sending unit in with the new pump.

Rear air suspension

The air system does not lower when you get out, it levels the car and stays level, but is you put weight in trunk and people sitting in the back seat and the car lifts to level out with the weight and then you remove all the weight and rear end is to high up then there is a problem.
These bags do not lift that high, if you hear the solenoids make sure it is not lower , measure. Also, the release of the air is very slow, make sure it is not lower, if you hear the solenoids open the car may be lowering very slow. check the height. If you are sure its not lowering then you may be correct in saying the level sensor may be bad. the only other part would be the solenoids but i would start with the level sensor as the air is going into the bags.
I quick test to check solenoids at bags is to start car and go rear the rear and locate the sensor, remove the arm from the control arm and bring it down so computer thinks car is to high and see if air is released. caution don"t stay under the car as it will lower down slowly. if it starts to lower then turn key off and reconnect lever and replace sensor.there is a company we use that is real good at this air bag system and prices are good with quality parts.http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_LINCOLN_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid2.html

I just filled up my tank and now the light is on and the tank shows empty?

{: ) Your fuel level sensor could be intermittently reading high resistance and may need replacement. An intermittent reading can happen at any level (say 1/4, 1/2, 3/4) and will suddenly give you an empty reading and fuel light, sometimes an SES light may follow. At any rate, this kind of symptoms still recommends replacement of the fuel level sensor.
You can observe it by yourself. Does it read normal on lets say half full but will read empty when you can calculate that you still have 1/4 remaining on your tank. In your case you've just filled it full, and it's no different once the fuel level sensor start getting erratic readings.
Although it may take time, you can wait until the fuel level stabilizes to a certain lower level where you think your gauge was reading normally before. You can also do some stop and go, forward and reverse, to slosh the level arm to a a more readable position. Check if you can get clearer results out of this trick.
A scan tool is a better tool to determine quickly the condition of the sensor and may tell also if there are other codes that is related to your problem.

i would replace the compressor relay module, and also take a look at the level sensors.Make sure the sensors are operating correctly and are connected to control arm.

My leveling systems wont go down

Check the height sensor operation on the left rear wheel and see if the link from the sesnor to lower arm is connected. When sensor arm is pushed up the car will be raised up. Take a small screwdriver and unclip the lower link. With ign. on and car not running lower link to see if it lets the car come down. You may need to adjust or replace the height sensor.

1996 lincon town pump works and cuts off before airing up

I am new at the Air Suspension issue myself. My 96 is beginning to have some issues. But, have you had the Height Leveling sensor above the rear axle checked out? The position of this sensors 'arm' is what tells the system to turn on and off the Air Compressor in order to maintain a level ride height. From what I have read. these sensors wear out. A faulty sensor could be telling the compressor to kick off to soon.

Back end rides high!

it may not have been pluged in or the arm that goes from the contrl arm to the sensor not snap in to place . the rod snaps in to a ball and socket . if you look under the rear of the car you should see it it bolts to the fram and has a arm that goes to the lower control arm .

Automatic load leveler

The load leveler will be located on the rear axle. It will mount to the axle and have a scissor arm that extends to the body. This replacement is fairly simple, remove the mounting bolts on the axle and then unclip the scissor arm off of the body and re-install new part. Pay attention to where the scissor arm is mounted.

open circuit in the fuel level sensor. mounted in tank. as the fuel level in the tank starts to drop the arm will move past the dead spot on the sensor and the gauge will start reading again.i dont recommend diy replacement of the fuel level sender.
