YES you need them, ENG MTG is the Engine Management system, and the ENG CONT is the
Engine Control system so you see if they are disconnected you will have a good time wondering what is up with the car

Engine started running ruff, lost power and quit, oil light came on, check enging light flashed repeatedly. Oil level OK, No oil or coolent leaks, no overheating. Whats is the problem?

You really need to use a scanner to identify the problem. The low RPM may have triggered the oil light.

Since you said the engine is not overheating, it must be running again. So you can get free scans at Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys autoparts. Then you can follow the advice of the clerk or get the Code number and ask us for help.

Please include vehicle details so we know what you are driving.

Hi,

The possibilities are too numerous to list here. I suggest that you drive to the closest AutoZone and get a FREE diagnostic scan. This scan will precisely identify the problem. Then get back to me and I'll show you how to fix it.

All the best,

Ben

Vehicle stalling. Check engine light on.

Stop by any good parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc...) and have them do a FREE OBII scan (fault scan) This will identify what triggered your eng. light. You might also consider doing a healthy tune up. Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters (fuel filter included) this will give you a good base and help you get optimum fuel mileage.

I have a ford diesel engine . I am trying to identify it so i can buy a manual. the cylinder head number is 743F 6090 AAA can you help ? regards rob

Check log book / vehicle reg documents/ engine displacement cc's stamped on block or Ford dealership,,,,, if it's a stand alone enging etc for cc and spec. Most moror factors will stock workshop manuals and service kits for what is a limited range of engines in the Ford cargo ie 1.7lt or 2 lt etc.

Propane test on eng.

Your mechanic did a good test by externally adding more fuel to the engine. The fact that the addition of the extra fuel to the engine changed the engines behavior would suggest he is on the right track.

At times when brake is applied, engine dies and brake light comes on,and check engine soon light comes on. Engine will start right away, but service eng light stays on

It sounds as if the brake booster is leaking. When you press the brake pedal, vacuum is drawn from the engine supply, if the booster is leaking, it allows too much vacuum to leak, stalling motors & triggering sensors. There is a check valve located between the line that comes from the engine manifold over to the brake booster & that can also cause problems.

Plug that line & use your brakes, if it cures the problem, you've found your issue.

Other than that, if you have another vacuum leak, the use of the brakes could just make it so bad that it then triggers symptoms so you shold check your vacuum lines. Vacuum leaks can be identified by usiing a can of carb. cleaner with a nozzle, spraying a small amount in bursts near vacuum lines, connections, and plugged lines. If there is a leak, the engine will stall or slow when it draws in the carb cleaner and you should be able to identify where the leak is. Go slow, spray only a little at a time & allow it to dissipate as it is a flammable product.

good luck

I have a 2000 hyundai Sonata, 6 cylinder eng. My

The sensor is located on the left hand rear side of the block (near the bell housing). It is held in place by a 10mm bolt. It's to the right of the exhaust manifold (LH - radiator side) on the V6. Once you purchase the new sensor you'll be able to identify it on the engine. The connector to this sensor is located in the illustration.
