They are right on top of the motor. You need to pull that plate off that is held on by four bolts(13 mm), then remove the pigtail and it pulls straight up.Then you can access your plugs and plug boots. The spark plug socket size is a 5/8.Hope I could help, rate me accordingly. Thanks!!

Removing Plug Wires from '02 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.8 Liter V6

often times the connection inside the plug boot gets corroded and it's almost impossible to remove the wires with out damage. when this happens I gennerally replace the wires anyway this saves you problems in the long run . the sparkplug wire removalk pliers are a good investment however they are only as good if the boots themselves are not siezed up on the plugs. I have had this happen alot over the 20 years i been working on vehicles. I usually just twist and pull on the boots till they come off and not worry about damaging them because they should get replaced anyway the new plug wires have a antiseize lubricant to keep from this happening in the future

There is a voltage draw from your battery while engine is not running.to prove this loose any one of your terminals.with all switches turned off including engine, disconnect and re-connect the loose terminal.if you get a spark then there is a voltage draw, find the wire and replace it

Where is the ignition module. Can I get to it from under the hood? Should I replace the Crank module when I replace the ignition module?

Hi.

The ICM is located under the hood, next to the coil pack and spark plug wires. Here the part: Pontiac Grand Am Ignition Control Module (ICM).

If you ar having distribution problem and misfire check also the crankshaft position sensor. It signal is used to control coils and sparks.

Car won't start after changing spark plug

make sure the electrical plug is clipped on securely.you may have damaged the coil-pack that you are calling plugs.remove it again and place one of the old plugs in it and see if you get a spark when someone cranks the engine for you.If not replace the coil pack.

Finding the spark plugs

Depending on the engine you may not even have plug wires. i have a 2.4L in my grand am and they are under a plate directly on top of the engine(the one that says 2.4L on it.) should just be 4bolts and it lifts right out and you're 4spark plugs are right underneath it
