How do i reset my key pad on the drivers door on a 1998 ford explorer?

Do you have the code (sequence of numbers) for the lock? If not, you will not be able to change the lock code on the keypad without assistance from the Ford dealership. If you do then the owners manual gives step by step instructions. If you need an owners manual I can help with those instructions. Some vehicles have a card tucked up under the dash with the "code" for the locks from when the vehicle was first sold. I would look for that if you don't have the lock code.

Your factory code is on a card in the owners manual. If that is lost, access the control module in the cargo area behind the left cover panel.

You MIGHT be able to see the code printed on it, or you might need to pull it out in order to see it.

2 ways to get code.....1- get a scanner to access security module to get code (local dealers can do that)....or 2- tear-apart the left rear quarter panel to access the security module and the number is printed on the label.....once you do that you can change it to your own code as outlined in your owners manual.......GL
