Signs of a failing catalytic converter - loss of fuel economy, loss of power usually most noticeable on the highway, weird smell emitting from under the car......
If you have a misfire, that will cause this code to pop up....
If the vehicle has over 100,000 miles, it could be the O2 sensor(s)....
I hope this helps.....

Code 1133 means the O2 sensor for bank one in front of the catalytic converter is not switching from rich to lean and back.
Usually the problem is the sensor, but it could also be a wiring problem. The sensor data would need to be checked with a scanner.

Catalytic converter has plugged up twice in 3000 miles

Catalytic convertor fails due to oil burning, recent head gasket, improper fuel control, but plugging up at 3000 mile misfire surely plug it up when the vehicle is dumping gas in the catalytic, lean misfire ,running very rich due to a coolant temperature.Who is putting this on?I dont know what state you are from,a catalytic should not be installed unless the vehicle is in proper fuel control.and whoever installed this should foot the bill. You need to claim warranty regardless and plus there is a EO# that must match the vehicle.

2oo0 chevy blazer cel and code p0171 and p0174

Depending on the engine it will have between 4 and 2.

If you had a straight 4 or 6 engine then there would be only 2, one on the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe and then one just after the catalytic converter.

If you have a "V" engine (V8, V6) then you have an oxygen sensor on each exhaust manifold and will have a catalytic converter for each bank of the V. There will also be an oxygen sensor downstream of each converter as well. In this case there would be 4 oxygen sensors.

I don't believe you need to weld anything, but its a good idea to have a torch maybe, to get off the old one. or a big hammer.
