on this car, your system is right up front by the engine fuse box. Look it over for any damage. You may want to disconnect the cable and look over the pins to make sure none are bent. If this is OK, go back to looking at the wheel sensors, as I mentioned in the link I sent you.

I had this exact issue - whilst driving, one after the other, the three warnings popped up on the SID display and could be cleared. The first time it happened, when I stopped driving, parked and restarted it cleared it for about 8 minutes - then it happened again. Second time I reset it lasted for ten mins, then happened again. Thereafter, the warning were permanently on as soon as the ignition key was inserted and the key turned. I called my local Saab specialist who is fantastic and they clearly know these cars inside out. He told me over the phone that the likeliest cause for this was the wiring to one of the speed sensors on one of the rear wheels had become damaged. If it was, would be a twenty minute fix to cut out the corroded wiring and solder in some some new sections. Was booked in, and the Tech 2 confirmed that the problem was reported with the n/s rear wheel sensor. Sure enough, when the cabling was exposed a section of the bare wire was visible and corroded. Apparently, when the cabling is fitted and then covered, it is attached to the suspension assembly with a cable-tie and this rubs/wear over time breaking the cable. Just one of those things. Upon restarting the car, all warnings cleared, no parts required and car fixed - thanks to Motorvation Saab in Tonbridge for once again not fleecing me with my 9-3!

The abs light , when on turns off the traction control thats why that light is on,once the abs is repaired the traction light will go out, you need to first have the computer scanned for codes, the codes for the abs are stored in the abs computer, these codes will tell you what part of the system is not working. most of the time its a wheel speed sensor but scanning the codes is needed to find out,

Saab abs and traction lights on after new engine

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6003525-abs_traction_control_lights . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

In your case, also look over the ABS system itself, as they may have bumped it during the engine installation. If you can't find the ABS system, please get back to me with model and year info.

Traction light stays on as well as my abs would come on and stays on and clicking noise during braking.

Sounds like you have a problem in the front brakes or a front wheel speed sensor. A common cause for a Traction light is a faulty front ABS wheel speed sensor or harness. When the Anti lock brake computer sees a problem in the ABS syetm, it disables traction control as well.

Front Springs

I spoke with the Saab dealer whom sold me the springs last March, he told me there is an ongoing problem with many owners having to change springs, I have bought 2 x new springs and had them fitted total costs incl repair of damaged tyre £450, I will not be as originally planning purchasing another Saab, after sales are poor and excuses unacceptable when requested they honour warranty.

ABS Light And Stability controll light

The most likely root cause of the problem has been determined, and its step by step fix is also detailed if you have the skills to do that yourself. See the excellent detailed website posting by Dan Jensen on the Jag-lovers.org site forums.jag-lovers.org under avsn.php?1169101j41 . He describes what goes wrong in the $2800 ABS control electronic board, and that simply re-soldering a few heavy wires to the board will fix the trouble. But it requires some mechanical work to get that module out, and then some more work to saw the plastic case apart to get to that circuit board. - Best regards - MHH
