My 2007 Kia Rio is ten years old and has only 25,000 miles on it. Is it time to change the timing belt based on age, not mileage

Kia recommends ( california) checking at 60,000miles and 90,000miles and changing at 105,000miles
all other states and up to 2009 kia recommends replacement every 60,000miles
models from 2010 recommends every 60,000 miles or 72 months which ever occurs first
the timing belt is subject to dust ,age , grime and oil from cam, crank and hydraulic tension leaks so It would be advisable to consider changing it
rubber ages and cracks and a check by an accredited service shop would be a prudent move and if it is recommended to change the belt consider the advice

The fan for heat/air condition not working

Hello Bill,

Sounds reasonable... just a fuse... problem is fuses operate for good reasons most the time... and a quick look in the internet says... more about blower motors than FUSES

My favorite wiring site shows service bulletins... but is sadly devoid of your Magentis wiring diagram...

Likewise Rock auto .com has lots of 2007 blower motors... just lacking the Magentis model (again... but does show Optima: You must verify...
... (same?))

Need how to set timing belt on kia optima

I had 2006 kia optima 2.4 liter LX, I drove 150000 miles plus, it was over 100,000 miles I changed timing belt, and AC belt, alternator belt is still ok, but it was my fault, I did not change crank shaft balance belt, it next to timing belt, this very important, timing belt and crank shaft balance belt must change same time, you set all mark the same positions, you can see all clear marked
if you had OBD2 scanner is helpful to read all faulty codes if you do it your self repair
if you have any problems about KIA optima, please post on any websites, to share some ideas to other KIA optima owners, like me, I change oil every 2500 miles to make my optima runs smoother
automatic transmission fluid change every year if you put high mileage on your car, optima had hard time to find it own part some time, radiator hoses are still good condition and had hard time to find in any auto part stores in my home town, good luck and thanks for sharing.

Is 80000 miles the correct mileage for changing the timing belt(or chain} on a 2006 kia sedona lx v6 van? thanks

The 3.8 liter in the 2006 actually has a timing chain not a belt. So the chain doesn't need to replace what you may run into down the road is the tensioners having a problem as their is basically 3 chains in that engine. I would still take chains over belts any day though.
thank you and enjoy,
Lee

What is the recommended mileage to change the timing belt on 2004 kia spectra lx sedan?

i believe it to be 200 from the dealer but i would recomend having it inspected every year it only a few extra bucks once a year and it's a lot cheeper than doing a valve and head job on your car
