Leak coming from under the water pump but its not the water pump on a 93 chevy s10 2.8ltr

Hi Jessy:
It may be the intake manifold gasket. These were notorious for failing. PITA.
I'd suggest you give it a really good cleaning when the engine is cold. See if you can figure a way to hold a small mirror so you can see the problem location. Then you can run the engine until it is hot and pressure has built up in the cooling system. Then shut it down and use the mirror (and a flashlight) to look for the leak. Work safe...... there will be hot bits.
A temporary fix ?????????
Sometimes a product like Aluma-seal will work.
BUT if it does it will be temporary.
Hope this helps.

If this car needs head gasket is it worth buying

A head gasket repair is major work, not worth it unless the car is really nice and dirt cheap. One side note is that if this car has the 3.1 or 3.4 liter engine they are notorious for intake gaskets leaking that will have alot of the same symptoms as a head gasket but its alot less work to repair. Good luck!

High idle

Checked all the vacum/pcv hoses and make sure they are fine. Check the gasket between the IAC (idle air control) and the upper manifold. Spray some Injector cleaner around all the gaskets to see if the engine idle changes.

Take the IAC off and clean it good with some Injector cleaner. Chances are it's sticking. Cleaning is a temporary fix, eventually you'll have to replace.
Good luck and hope this helps.

2002 Chevy Impala low coolant light is on constantly. Even when car first starts and stays on. After about 10 miles car shows the water gage moving up to overheat. When I turn on the heater siometimes it...

This is usually the lower intake manifold gasket. The problem you are describing is due to a large air gap/bubble in your cooling line. This usually happens when the manifold gasket begins to fail.

You can add coolant, and bleed the coolant system (make sure to get out all the air to eliminate the no heat/overheat problem), but unless the lower intake manifold is fixed, it will probably contunue to leak (it can be a very very hard to detect leak). There are UV dyes u can add to the aNTIFREEZE TO CHECK FOR LEAKS THAT AREN'T OBVIOUS. But the worst case for this is that coolant gets in to the oil, and can ruin your engine. Check your dipstick for milky, creamy oil, a sign that there is coolant in the oil. Get it fixed immediately if this is the case, or you will ruin the engine.

There's info online about doing it yourself, but it's a bit invlved if you are not a mechanic. Expect to pay from 800 to 1200 to get it fixed at dealer or mechanic.

Yes, unfortunately it sounds like you have a blown head gasket. You can check your oil dipstick to see if there is any water in the oil and also check your coolant to see if there is any oil in the coolant. If so then you have a blown head gasket. The problem can only be resolved by having the heads machined and replacing the gaskets.
Please rate me and let me know if this helped.
