You should replace the battery terminal at night or when not using your car and reconnect it when required

Why does my 89 jeep comanche 4.0 have a high idle upon start and sometimes while driving. t has been only doing so upon sart but now it does it randomly while driving.

Most vehicles have a high idle until the engine gets hot. As for your random problem, might want to check for any vacuum leaks that could cause this problem.

When checking, best to do with cold engine. Start your vehicle and spray short amounts of starting fluid near vacuum hoses, if idle changes, you may have a leak. Keep away from exhaust manifold if at all possible. Also spray near intake hoses and air filter housing.

I have a 2001 Windstar with 108,000 miles on it. In cold, damp weather for some reason it tries to lock up when I try to start it. I first suspected a starter problem but the starter checked out fine.

The damp weather is causing a high tension leak in the ignition system . Check or renew the plug cables , Check the cap for tracking and moisture.

My car would not move in drive if the engine has just started.

Depending upon the sophistication of the car engine management systems, if the car engine is cold, the drive position of gears will not engage immediately. The automatic gear controller will delay the shifting of gears until the engine is warm enough, as signalled by the engine control module. This saves fuel, engine wear and tear and normalizes the startup conditions of the engine. Does it begin moving after a few seconds?

Redline upon startup

If your check engine light is flashing DO NOT even try to run the engine. Major damage could happen if it is flashing. Get it towed to a mechanic. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have not ruined it.

I sent my honda accord 1993 to honda dealer/repairer to get check why check engine ligths come ON.they said faulty collant sensor/is this serious problem?and why if the check engine ligths comes on,my car...

a bad coolant sensor not a serious problem that can cause engine damage. but it will make it run real bad ,use alot of fuel ,hard start, ruin your cat converter, etc.they arent that expensive and are easy to put in.
think of your coolant sensor like your tells the computer how warm/cold the engine is and then compuer when it thinks cold gives more gas or hot and gives less gas.if comuter dont know temp of engine it has to guess and they are always wrong.
coolant sensor bad computer has no way of knowing engine temp

1984 toyota corolla 1.6 engine. How do i adjust

Carbureted models have a fast idle cam on the throttle,It is a screw that sets against a movable part, called the cam, when the engine heats up,the cam will drop upon tapping the gas pedal.Set the carb, while the engine is cold,by tapping the gas pedal, then adjust the fast idle cam screw by turning it in,with the engine running.Start out by turning the screw in a full turn before starting engine so it will run, then adjust the screw as the engine runs.

2003 Corolla Winter Cold Start Issue

Don't have a good answer to your problem but the items I'd change would be the coolant temp sensor and the manifold air temp sensor if yours has one. Both will influence the condition you have posted. Also, the rpm's you noted are on the high side of safe on normal cold starts but because in extreme cold the engine oil takes a while to get where it needs to be, I'd consider using a good synthetic. It flows easier and stays on parts without draining off, giving a bit more protection.
