Antenna Mast I need to replace the antenna mast... the majority of the old one spit itself out some time ago but the final section and the sleeve with the clips remains in place and I cannot figure out how to remove it. Any suggestions?

Have a similar problem, a bottom section of the antenna is stuck, held in by the clips. How can I release these and remove the old section. The antenna is mounted at the rear.

Well if trunk placed there will be like a lock bolt and wires connected to clip

if front mounted there will be the same thing but in a tighter space
go under the antenna grab the bottom clip and start turning
some have screw in middle of old antennas
but your is just a big threaded nut flat the screws onto bottom antenna

How do you replace radio antanna

What kind of car is it? If it is a fixed antenna you just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. If it is an automatic antenna, you can buy either the motor or the mast. Assuming you just need to replace the mast, it comes with the plastic piece with the teeth on it. You need to remove the old broken plastic piece from the antenna motor. You might need to disassemble the antenna motor from the car to get enough of the plastic to grab onto with pliers. While you are pulling on it have someone turn on the radio to activate the antenna up motion and pull the old plastic piece completely out. With the old plastic runner out, the motor installed on the car, and the radio on, run the new plastic runner first through the doughnut screw that holds the mast to the car. Then cram the new plastic runner as far as you can into the hole that leads to the antenna motor. Then hold the very end of the mast (the tip), align the base to the opening as best you can and have someone turn off the radio to activate the down antenna motion. It goes quick so don't have your fingers where they can get pinched as the motor sucks in the plastic and the mast down into the hole. With the mast retracted, tighten the doughnut screw to that the mast won't flop out when you turn the radio back on.

How do i fit aerial mast only, to already existing aerial motor? thanks

Typically there are two ways: easy and major surgery. The easy way is available, depending on exactly how the old mast is broken....Car off, radio off, unscrew the external pieces of the antenna at the mount, right where it exits the vehicle...Have assistant turn on radio and activate the antenna. It should spit the whole mast and inner piece. The new one goes in, BUT BE ready to carefully and without kinks, feed the new mast assembly.
If this method does not work, you have to extract the entire motor assembly and open it up. Sometimes easier to replace the assembly.
