The lock up torque converter may be causing one of the clutch plates to shudder in the gear it is in.
Also, check that the engine mounts are good.

If the clutch plates are worn in the transmission, then the transmission will have to be rebuilt or replaced.

you more than likely have a bad solenoid. have a reputable trans shop change out the solenoid pack located on front of trans right behind the cooling fans

Transmission shudder on 1997 Mercury Gran Marquis

When you get a shutter- drag the brake pedal lightly-
that will turn off the torque converter clutch if the solenoid
is working

The rpm should go up with any brake pedal application-
if the converter is releasing

If you determine the torque converter clutch is bad & the
shutter, then the trans has to come out

Check engine & trans mounts also for wear

1996 Ford Thunderbird LX V8 Automatic Transmission shudder

Check rear emergency brakes if you have 4 wheel discs. When soot and brake lining fall to bottom of assembly they jam and shudder until wheels start rolling fast enough to scatter debris.

Also if posi equipped there is a needed rear-end additive to help clutch plates work. Perhaps clean rear-end lube and additive is needed.

Shutter at 55-60km/hr

Well, now I see your other post. AT 55-60, huh? Since you changed trans. fluid, are you thinking it may be trans. related? That's about speed when lock-up torque converter would engage. Not sure about your '05, though. Course that may be shifting into overdrive, too. Might try driving in 3rd gear up to 60 and see if shudder develops then. Good luck.

2000 Silverado torque converter shudder. Issue surfaced after trans broke and was replaced. Trans replaced, torque converter shudders between 40 and 50 when applying throttle but not enough to down shift....

I would have the wheel hubs/bearings checked for noise, resistance, or wear. This part is notorious for creating a shudder and all 4 wheels have them. If the shudder comes from the front it is probably just a bad hub. I have also had worn bushings cause this problem, but it's usually a combination of the bad hub and worn bushing.

04 ram 1500 2wd. trans shudder at cruising speeds under 55? Doesn't during acceleration. Change filter and fluid to no avail.

That sounds like a torque converter problem more than likely. It sounds like it's trying to lock up (supposed to do that above 60mph) at a low speed. It will feel like a harsh shift or a shudder when it's trying to engage. Just to make sure I'm correct, drive it and listen to all the gears. When at 55-60mph after it has gone into it's top gear it will normally drop about 200-300rpm when the torque converter locks up.

Caravan shake when accelerating for 40 - 50 mph ?

In most cases it will be torque converter shudder. The trans fluid is not lubricating properly and causes a less then optimum performance and the lock-up mechanism fails to shift fully. This causes the lock-up to shudder or modulate and gives symptoms of a unbalance wheel at 40-50 mph. Change the fluid and filter and your problems will go away. The fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles...most people don't ever change the fluid and wonder why their trans needs a $3000 fix. Hope it works for you...it did for me.

Over-drive shudder 45+ mph

The P0308 could be showing up because of the torque converter shudder. Go to your local trans shop, or parts store and get a bottle of Smart Blend. It is the best additive for TCC shudder. Do Not put anything else in your trans. This stuff works, and it is the only additive recomended by GM, and Dodge.. It is not but about $10, if your converter in not to far gone this will help. If it is all you are out is $10. Good Luck.

Lock up converter shudder ? when I apply reverse and 1st

If you can find the lead that operates the lockup solenoid in the transmission, you could cut it, but I would not recommend that. Likely the converter has an internal failure. Further operation can cause more fine metal (from broken part) contamination to circulate into transmission and damage can be costly!!!
