CAUTION On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or death.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel silencer from the passenger side of the instrument panel.
  3. Disengage the wire harness connector locking tab and disconnect the wire harness connector and wire harness retainers from the blower motor.
  4. Remove the four screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing.
  5. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing.

To install:
  1. Position the blower motor into the HVAC housing .
  2. Install the four screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing.
  3. Tighten the screws to 20 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm).
  4. Connect the wire harness connector to the blower motor and engage the wire harness connector locking tab.
  5. Install the HVAC wire harness retainers onto the blower motor.
  6. Install the instrument panel silencer onto the passenger side of the instrument panel.

Blower motor does not work

Should be under the dashboard on the passenger side. The blower motor uses resistors to control the speed. If these go bad it could cause the motor not to work. Also the heater control unit. Usually the motors will run and start making noise before going completely bad.

Heating broke

Was the blower making strange noises before it quit? If not, does the blower work at all? perhaps only on one speed? If it only works on one speed, look for the resistor that goes with the blower motor. I assume it will be near the blower itself, but can't tell you where. An auto parts store can probably tell you. If the blower was noisy and suddenly quit, you will likely need to replace the blower motor.
