Question about 2004 Dodge Durango

Interior lights won't turn off

The other day the interior lights came on when I started my 2004 durango and they would not turn off. I adjusted the dimmer switch, read the manual, re-adjusted and re-read. The lights will get dimmer when pressed and after several minutes the overhead lights will go out when manually pressed. The tailgate light will not go out at all. There is nothing blocking the door sensors that I can see. I do have an after market remote start on the truck... I have had it for years with no previous problems.

I have the same problem. Tried switching out the light switch, didn't work. Was told it is either a ground (location?) or the body module?. Let us know if someone finds a fix.

Had the exact same problem...there is a recall on the interior cluster (check with your local dealership). After the recall was performed, problem was gone. Fix it soon...I let it go like that for a bit and it eventually eats batteries.

Might be a recall issue with the instrument cluster

The interior lights wont turn on

inside the fuse panel by the drivers door in the dash, there are like 2 or 3 fuses you will see that have like a yellow plastic fuse puller built into them (as least thats how it appears) anyway one of those fuses are for the interior lights!! at least thats how it was in my 2003 durango when the interior lights wouldn't come on!!!

My interior lights stay on in my dodge durango

take it to a dealer. you need a CCN (cabin compartment node) also known as a instrument cluster, it controls you dome lights. good news they had a recall on the durangos for this problem and even if the recall was done it should still be covered assuming im right about the cause... (i work at a dodge dealer and i have seen it a few times)

Interior lights

Your fuse panel should be labeled or on back of cover & tell you whats, what. If not check owners manual.

Interior lights don't turn on

Sounds like a bad switch on your latch, It is inside the door mounted to the latch, most I've seen you have to replace the complete latch. Merry Christmas
