The clicking is most likely the selonid.
It is usually mounted on the inner fender of a ford close to the Battery. It's an easy cheap fix.
If the seleniod doesn't get it with a fully charged battery, you should check the starter and battery cable connections

Good Luck

My 2008 chevy Silverado LS won't start I just hear a clicking noise when I try to crank it and the battery seem to be fine

The click sound is the starter selinoid. you can attemt to bypass the selinoid by jumping the two big wires on the starter together and see if the starter spins. But it sounds like your starter is burned up. Time to replace it.

When i try to start the van i only get a click sound

I would think your battery could be dead. try jumpstarting from a jumper box or another vehicle or better yet put battery on charger for a few hours.
Also check both + and - connections and be sure they are not corroded and are getting good contact. If after this you still get only clicking sound I would think that starter needs replacing.

1997 Nissan Pickup stick shift. It will no start can puch start it. Put a new started on thinking it was that. Also tried jumping it off, nothing worked. Any ideas what it could be. Oh when trying to crank...

I would have the battery load tested as it indicates a bad cell. If the solenoid only clicks but you can push start it then the battery is too flat or dead and if a jump starting will not work then the jumped battery is feeding into a dead short in the other battery.

My bmw 320i 05 model wont start (no sound) and there is no dead battery sign on the dash board

If your battery is dead enough, even the dead battery indicator won't light. Take the battery to an autoparts store for a bench test/charge first before trying anything else.

Wont start but makes weird stuttering sound

Sounds like the battery is low on charge or is in need of replacement in most cases.
I would not change the starter until trying a new battery that is fully charged.

Clicking sound when trying to start

the clicking sound may be the sound of a bad starter or the battery doesnt have enough juice to start the truck try giving a jump start first if that does not work try hitting the starter with a hammer a few times to see if it starts if it does this is a starter problem.if no start check and see if there is power athe possitive wire when trying to start it. because this is an older truck you can check for powere at the solenoid on the fender

Dead battery even after 12 hours of charging?

Sounds like battery is fine, or at least o.k. , but there is a problem with the starting system. If you put headlights on, then have someone try to start it while you watch headlights, and they don't dim way down, then battery if o.k. for now. Do you know what killed the battery originally, was it just from sitting for a while & not being used? Listen & locate the clicking noise if you can, it sounds like relay or solenoid. You can try a boost & see if that may help. If it's automatic, move shifter through all gears, then try. If standard, make sure clutch in all the way . Let me know what happens.

Engine clicks,but don't turn over

Take your battery, and (if you don't mind pulling it) the starter to the local bigger name parts store to get tested. They will be able to tell you if they are ok, or not. IF the battery is dead, or has a dead cell, then go to SAMs, and buy an Optima red top battery. I swear by these batterys, and put them in all of my vehicles. My last one took 5 years, before showing any signs of voltage drop. If you do the math, the Optima battery is cheaper in the long run. Anyways, if you don't want to pull the starter, try hitting it one good time with a hammer, and try starting the van. If it starts, then you need a starter, because the internals are shot on your existing one. (not from the hammer hit) LOL
