If it is making the noise when turning the wheel while stationary or parallel parking, then the fluid level may be low.

If it is not low then the pump itself is wearing out if it has a grinding noise.

Changing the power steering pump is recommended.

Good luck on this repair.

I am hearing a noise, like a whirring sound that speeds up with the acceleration and makes no noise when in park. Does this sound like cv joint trouble?

a whirring sound can be a bearing on a component under the hood.(power steering pump, alternator, idler pulley bearing, etc),it can also be a serpentine belt from a worn belt or belt tensioner a cv joint won`t make a whirring sound(it will cause a clunking noise or a vibration).

Everytime i turn my steering wheel it sounds like something is wrong wit my power steering and there is fluid in there maybe tha belt?

Power steering pumps begin to make a loud whirring noise when you turn the wheel. As long as you have fluid and the power steering is working there is no damage occurring. But either gets worse it is time to change the power steering pump.
As for the belt if it is serpentine style. (Long and makes many turns) then the belt is fine. If it is the V-belt style (old style) only on 2-3 pulleys max then just make sure it feels snug.

My 08 Chevy Uplander makes a whirring noise when turning the steering wheel. Not a constant problem, seems to be intermittent, but have also received service message to check stability traction control....

the return line on the power steering pump maybe bad are plug and it may also be low on power steering and the drive belt if the car has over 40,000 miles on it then its time to change the drive belt as well Merry Christmas & Happy New Year as always wish you the best of luck Michigan Man

Power steering pump is making noise. resivoir is full . do the lines ever get clogged?

Power steering pumps do give up.If its a whirring/buzzing sound whilst you turn the wheel,it is a good sign the pump needs to be replaced.Exchange units from a power steering/transmission shop is usually the cheapest way to go and not a dealer.Hope this helps you

Car was making a whirring noise and got louder and then noise stopped, warning light said check charge system. When car was put in reverse the steering wheel would not turn.

Hi there.
I think the power steering pump gave up. The fan belt possibly stopped because of the pump and then the system shows no charge to the battery
"check charge system" makes then sense to me.

Loud whirring noise at start-up

The first thing to check would be to make sure the power steering reservoir is not running near empty, locate the filler cap for the power steering pump it should be marked and then add the appropriate amount making sure you don't over fill, that may make the sound go away if not we must move on to the next possibility, by the way if the noise gets louder when you turn the steering wheel it is most likely the power steering pump or fluid level is low.

Ac dose not really work very well and when i turn the wheel ths jeep make noises

When you turn the steering wheel and it makes a whirring noise, check the power steering fluid level. As for the aircon, make sure the setting is on cool, a/c light is on, on switch and that airflow is good. If it is still not cool after running for a couple of minutes, have refrigerant checked.
