NO JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU BENCH BLEED THE MASTER FIRST BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT

2004 vectra c diesel clutch pedal to floor. Garage changed csc,master cylinder, return spring but pedal still drops to floor. Not loosing any fluid been bled numerous times.Any ideas??


Crack off the slave cylinder bleed nipple. If you get pressure when pumping the pedal, replace the clutch. If not, remove the air lock in the system or fit a new master cylinder.

How do I bleed a external clutch slave cylinder with no bleed screw on a 95 ford f250 turbo diesel


Need to remember that air rises. When replacing slave cylinder first hook everything up and bleed using the nut on the connecting line at the slave, then slowly depress and release pedal making sure to keep plenty of fluid in the reservoir, then after sitting a bit, tap on slave cylinder, line from bottom all the way up to the master, then loosen the nut connecting the line to the master and allow any air there to escape. Repeat whole process if needed.

I have a 1988 f350 diesel i replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder bled the lines and the truck still wont go in gear the throw out arm is moving about 1/2 inch what could be my prob


Ford has special bleeding and blocking instructions for clutch slave. Check manual for proper bleeding requirements. May consider presurre bleeding of master cylinder or use master cyclinder bleeding tubes that fill the resevoir as you bleed the and remove all air in system.

You no longer have vacuum assistence. The brake master cylinder is mounted on the brake booster which uses vacuum generated by the engine to "help" you push the brake pedal. On diesel engines there is normally a vacuum pump on the rear of the alternator which generates this vacuum. On petrol engines the vacuum is generated by the engine itself. Follow the pipe from the booster to the inlet manifold or alternator(diesel) and check for leaks along the whole length and at the joints. Replace the pipe if leaking. If no leaks are found the booster needs replacing. If you have a diesel engine, check the operation of the vacuum pump first before replacing the booster. Make sure the alternator is turning(belt in place) at idle. Disconnect the pipe at the rear of the alternator and hold a piece of paper over the pump opening to check operation. Do not use your hand as this will result in injury even with the engine at idle. Replacing the booster will see you upside down under the dashboard swearing, pleading and begging because that's where the bolts are that hold the booster in place. The master cylinder needs to be removed from the booster before the booster can be pulled from the engine bay.

My 1984 300 d is leaking fluid out behind the master cylinder. Is this something that I can fix with a gasket or do I need to rebuild the master? Thanks Jesse


No, it needs a new master cylinder, but this is not a difficult repair. Would you like instructions how to replace the master cylinder? By the way, has the fluid level got to empty? Don't let that happen!

if you talking brakes not clutch. you can pump the brakes all day long and they don't build pressure and you not losing fluids the master is out. now if you pump them up and they are rock hard your hydrabooster is out.now if your mechanically incline you can order a master cylinder rebuild kit for like 20-30 bucks which is basically orings from local parts store and only tools you need are snapring pliers. or you can change the master ,bench bleed it first then bleed out the rr,lr,rf,lf in that order.hope i help.all under 100 bucks

The clutch filud was empty filled but still can't ingae clutch. Is there a bleeder some were


There should be a bleed valve on the slave cylinder but some of them are quite difficult to get to. If the master was empty you need to check the line for leaks and the master and slave cylinders for leakage.

if master cylinder and slave cylinder.is good and have brake fluid is in system and no leaks.problem is in the clutch and pressure plate.
