Question about Ford F-150

1 Answer

My brake lights continue to stay on. I have replaced the brake switch. In fact, the brake lights will stay on even after unhooking the wiring harness to the switch. The hazard relay is good, the turn signal relay is good. Brake fluid levels are good and all bulbs are good. How is power still getting to the brake lights? Could the problem be in the turn signal wiring? I have to pull the fuse to get them to turn off. This is a 1995 ford f150.

Emergency brake light on my 1994 Toyota Camry won't shut off even after I replaced e-brake light switch.

If you disconnect the wire(s) coming from the switch, does the light say on? If so, there may be a short to ground fro the switch to the lamp. You would need to replace or have the wire replaced.

Brake lights stay on continuous

Sounds like you have a jammed or bad brake light switch.  It is mounted on the brake pedal.  Check to make sure it isn't jammed somehow.  If not, you probably need to replace.  Hope this helps.

Blowing brake light fuses everytime you hit brakes.

Sounds like a short in the steering colume, maybe the turn signal switch, or a wire that the insulation got wore thru in the colume. Unhook break light switch and try the turn signals and hazards again and see what happens, maybe you can isolate it that way. Also if you havent done it already chk.the sockets in tailight housing for corrosion and bear wires, or anything, even ground wires.
