well yes there is a diagram available if someone just knew exactly which jeep model you have and the engine and transsmission combination.Here is what I have available Hope it helps if I can do anything more to help please let me know. also check under the battery I have seen corroded wiring many times I thank you for your question and if I have helped you please give me a fixya! Tachs are really not that expensive... problem with the tach from your jeep is that it's not connected to the ign coil in a traditional sense, instead, it is connected to the engine control module, which may contain part of what would normally be found inside a seperate unit, making your tach, basically a volt meter with a different scale on it.
Before taking it apart and rendering it useless for anything, I'd get a tach made for use on the vehicle you intend to put it in.
