The water is causing the belt to slip on the bullys and tensioner rollers. Your belts could neet to be replaced or your tensioner springs could be weak.
Inspect your belts for cracks and tightness

They are not tight enough. Find another mechanic, the first one is incompetent. There is also an anti squeal spray if you prefer that:

Why would my jaguar XJ6 pully start squeeking, sounds like bearings?

what is happening is the belt is not getting full contact with the pulley, you might just have some antifreeze residue from repair and by slowly poring 1/2 a gallon of water on the belt will wash off this residue BUT first look under the car for leaks ! AC off let car run for 10 minutes on driveway mark the tires position with a coin back car up and look for a wet spot, the coin will give you a better idea where the leak may be.. no leak YAAAA .. next step .
pulley groves may have trash in the groves this can be cleaned with a bar of lava soap WARNING this procedure is done with the engine running and is dangerous ! take the bar of vava and touch it to the inside of the belt, this pumice in the soap works well for cleaning the pulley groves. also a ice pick or a small screwdriver can be used in the groves of the pulleys to clean black residue in the bottom of the groves.. remember i I was able to help you thank me

Sounds like serpentine belt is squeeking

If the squeek stops as the motor warms up replace it. You can also purchase some squeek stop spray and see if that helps before buying a new belt

My alfa gtv ts has developed a squeek in the

The timing belt is synchronous and will not slip. if it did your car wouldn't run. it is most most likely a drive belt. replace the drive belts. if that doesn't fix it then one of the pulleys is going bad. its hard telling which one.

Engine Squeek

It may be the water pump that is making the noise if the noise is constant.

Major friction/squeeking from serpentine belt!!!!

Keith,it sounds like you may need to clean the grooved surfaces on your pulleys, you could remove the belt and use some aerosol brake cleaner and a stiff brush to remove any build-up on the pulleys.you could also try spraying the same on the pulleys while the car is running, just be sure and wear eye protection and don't get to close to any moving parts.

Skeaky serpentine belt

are you positive the squeek is coming form the belt area?

the squeek can be from several other places, fan clutches can cause a high speed squeek, take the fan off and see if that cures it, the water pump front bearing can also be the culprit but that is hard to figure out without swapping in a new water pump, and lastly look at the AC compressor clutch, see if the squeek changes when you turn on and off the AC

hope this helps,
