The gas tank in the Hyundai Elantra is a poor design, causing this notorious problem. The only thing I can say is that there is a lining inside the gas tank which deteriorates over time. The best think you can do is pump slowly, some stations pumps are better than others.

On the nozzle of the dispensers there is a safety kick off, this will activate whenever gas splashes back into the nozzle. there are two ways to make this not happen, the first is back the nozzle out so it does not have gas splashing back into the nozzle or find another gas station that have different nozzles.

Hyundai sonata 2003 when filling with gas, the pump will shut off as if the tank is full. Every time, everywhere

Try angling the gas pump handle at a differnt angle than just up and down, also try pulling the neck out during filling.... also if you have time go to the dealer and tell them and show service what is going on during filling, maybe they have a technique for filling.

Is difficult to fill gas tank

Gas pump nozzles have a device in the end that when gasoline runs back up into it, it turns off the fuel flow." There's a tiny hole near the bottom of the gas pump nozzle connected to a small tube.
Normally, air flows through that tube while you're filling and the gas keeps flowing as long as you hold down on the trigger. When that hole gets covered by gasoline (when your tank is full), a vacuum forms inside the nozzle and an automatic shutoff switch gets tripped, turning off the flow of gas with a thunk. Next time your fueling up try to reposition the nozzle.

try pulling back on the handle so that it isnt completely into the fill space allowing a small amount of air to go in as it pumps. may not be venting enough to allow full fill -

Gas pump shuts off like its full many times while trying to refuel.

Usually a blockage in the filler tube or a vent problem.
You may have to take the filler tube off and inspect it. There should be a tube inside or outside the pipe to allow air pressure in the tank to equalize.

Stop at gas station after driving 250 miles in my 2000 s10 extreme and pump shuts off like tank is full after 3 gallons of gas go in...should take 11 or so gallons. Also gas gauge stays on full and will...

sounds like you have a restriction in the fuel inlet pipe,( maybe air locking) also your tank sender unit neads replacing to fix you gauge fault, or it maybe that it has something that is not alowingf it to move freely inside the tank, have a good look inside when low on fuel. through the hole where the sender is fitted.

Filling up gas it shuts the pump off immediately

If your vent tube isn't plugged, try turning the pump handle upside down. I have to do that with my mustang all the time. Ford has had gas filler problems for decades now.

2004 hyundai accent. trouble filling gas tank

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, It is not possible to fill the tank if you are letting the petrol pump run at full speed.Trying to fill up quickly it will only build up pressure and cut off. Next time you fill up just pull the petrol pump handle half way, it will take longer to fill but you wont get the blow back. Modern petrol pumps are getting quicker all the time.Hope this helps you.

Pumping gas!

Try pumping the gas a little slower, or turn the nozzle in a different position, sometimes the gas will back up the filler tube, making it think it's full.
