You will need to take it to a shop and they can run a diagnostic to check the system and reset your light, should cost around 100 dollars

Srs light stays on when car is turned on/mitsubisi galant 2001

Have the car ever been in an accident? Bumped even a little? Even though an air bag was not deployed, crash data may be stored and a new module may need be installed.
Also see if all the seat belts work. If one does not pull out or retracts properly that may be it.
A shop scanner should also be able to tell you the reason for the SRS (Supplimental Restraint System) light

    the flashing is a code, you need to get a pen and a piece of paper and decode this. It is a two digit number the first set of flashes is the first number so lets say it flashes 3 times and then pauses for 3 to 5 seconds your first number would be 3 and then after the pause it blinks 4 times that would be your second number... so your code would be 34. anyways here is a list of the code meanings so after you count the two set of flashes and get your code compare it here

    12=Low Battery Voltage
    13=Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Ground
    14=Primary Crash Sensor Circuit Shorted to Ground
    21=Safing Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
    22=Safing Sensor Output Shorted to Battery Voltage
    23=Safing Sensor Circuit Input Feed/Return Circuit Open
    24=Safing Sensor Output Feed/Return Circuit Open
    32=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
    33=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
    34=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
    35=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
    41=RH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
    42=LH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
    44=RH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
    45=LH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
    51=Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal FuseFuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground
    52=Backup Power SupplyVoltage Boost Fault
    53=Primary Crash Sensor Circuits Resistance to Ground or Air Bag Diagnostic Fault

    It is possible something got bumped or unplugged. Look under the front seats to make sure everything is plugged in. The airbag connectors are colored yellow.
