Question about 1999 Chevrolet Astro
The fuel pump on your particular vehicle is located in the fuel tank. If you plan on replacing yourself, here are the steps to replace it.(You might want to have the gas tank as low as possible for this). 1. Disconnect the battery. 2. Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands. 3. Loosen the fuel tank straps to their lowest point.(Do not remove them completely yet). 4. Disconnect all electrical connections and any lines, including the fuel filler neck. 5. Remove the fuel tank straps and lower the tank. It is recommended to have someone help you, if not use a jack and some blocks to lower the tank. 6. With the fuel tank out, remove the ring keeping the fuel pump secured. 7. Disconnect electrical connections to the pump. 8. Installation is reverse if removal. I hope this helps.
