SOURCE: Bad Vibrations

Take it to a tire shop and have them check to see if the tires are balanced. Have them check for bubbles on the tires and if all elses fails take it to a mechanic for a check up on your front end.

Hi, my car starts vibrating at 2800 RPM and vibrations dissapears at 3000 RPM.

does it have the same acceleration at that speed, if it does not accelerate so well it is called a flat spot and will almost certainly need a good mechanic to sort it out
If acceleration remains as good in this range as through the rest of the rev ange add detail and please resubmit

What might be experienced by transaxil/transmission bearings wear? Rumbling or vibrations?

Kia is bad with wheel bearings ;.About 80 to 100k they start going bad. You have to check them physically with a dial gauge or know how to inspect them in other manners. They cause a rumbling sound when they start to go bad.

I have a 2002 dodge grand caravan sport, I checked all fluids and everything is up to date. But I put it on drive it make a drumroll like sound and when put in reverse it makes the sound louder. I hav

It could be your torque converter gone bad.. it will have all symptoms you list.. bad grinding type sound and vibrations.. not going into gear.. the down side is that without taking it out and replacing it I don't really know a way to test it. 90% certain torque converter failure. Good luck though.

So my 1998 mercury sable had a broken sway bar link a few months ago and I fixed that but now the tire is still rattling when I drive and when I brake it's not so bad at speeds below 35 or above 60 but...

Have you had your wheels balanced? As an unbalanced wheel can cause vibrations at that are only felt at certain speeds. It's a inexpensive thing to try and it might work.

I have a 2.4 vtec with 5spd, when I accelerate I get a serious vibration. I've checked the mounts and replaced the right side axle to no avail.

IF your front end is jacked and your front tires are spinning you should be able to see the vibrations. Use a stethoscope on your motor and tranny to isolate vibrations while running.

In your case id start with wheel balancing first. Have them balanced on the car too (ofcourse). Having it only at a specific speed indicates its a harmonic vibration (vibrations that only occur when something rotating, reaches given speeds)
So yeah, start with cheapest repairs and go from there.

I highly doubt its your mounts unless they arn't sitting or torqued properly. If your confident they were installed perfectly i'd ignore that possibility.

Also, with front end jacked and car not running wiggle your wheels left/right, and up/down to see if any play. Spin them and look at them from the front to see if they wobble.

other causes are, tire with a bad tread, one thats about to separate, this is what caused my car to vibrate
deeper causes can include a bad flywheel,, broken or bad motor mount, and a simple alignment

Shaking in the stering at 60mph

Tire balance is likely cause, It starts shaking at a certain speed then will stop at a higher speed, If it were a bad belt it would have a constant wobble feel

Vibrates in overdrive speed up or slow down it quits

if your vehicle only vibrates at speeds above a certain point the most likely cause of the issue is a tire balance issue. just make sure it doesn't matter if you accelerating or decelerating the vehicle just vibrates after a certain speed, and if this is the case take it to a tire shop and have them check the balance. shouldn't cost more than like 40 bucks.

2001 Jeep Cherokee Vibration at highway speeds

That kind of vibration generally can be associated with a binding universal joint. Sometimes you can see a bit of rust around the seals, sometimes not. The "shake" test is generally valid only with vehicle off the ground and trans in neutral, but sometimes the bearings are fused with rust and do not move.If "eyeball" inspection reveals nothing , remove the driveshaft (s) and physically move joints. If overly loose or binding they are bad. If after complete inspection you still come up with nothing then it's time to look at other "oddball" things.
good luck
