What is the year and model of your Ford?

This sounds like the torque converter lockup clutch is slipping. If you have a warranty from the shop that rebuilt it, take it back and show them your problem

Is the engine running alright?
Did it do this before the rebuild of the transmission?

Does the engine have any codes stored in it for intermittent or hard service engine soon light?

If the engine runs ok, but the transmission is not shifting into the right gear, i.e. 1st gear to start, 2nd gear on acceleration and higher speeds, on up to 3rd or Overdrive, for instance, then I would say that the transmission in question should taken a look at by the technician, again.

I have 1992 Toyota Camry 2.2L 4 cylinder. The trans is an automatic.. It grabs every gear. Except reverse. The transmission fluid is all watery. Just a few minutes ago My drive gear wasn't going any higher...

Probably the bands and internal clutches for your particular transmission are shot. If you took off the transmission oil pan and looked at the filter you would find pieces of metal in the filter. Some transmissions also have a magnet to pick up some of the disintegrating metal as well. My recommendation is to take it to your trusted auto mechanic and have him find you a good used one or a rebuilt one. If you go to a dealer you will pay thousands. It will still cost over a thousand parts and labor but that's a hell of a lot less than the alternative. Also it would cost you more to have the transmission rebuilt than to get a good, low Milage used one or a rebuilt one from a place that rebuilds them all day. I have been down this road with both engines and transmissions and my info comes from a mechanic with over 50 years of experience that owns his own shop. Good luck. Cost about $1500 or less my way.

Gearbox transmission slipping

Unfortunately once the transmission clutch packs start to slip like this you will need the transmission removed and rebuilt. There is no other fix.

There must be a ground wire to frame that was disconnected. Take the vehicle back to the shop and have them look.

Grinding in first and second gear

There are synchronizer rings on the mainshaft between the synchro hub and the gears. These rings help in meshing the gears so they don't 'grind' when shifting.

I think whoever rebuilt your transmission needs to fix it. It sounds like the synchronizer rings were left out, or possibly there is not enough allowance for the synchronizers to rotate freely -- the axial 'play' when they build up the gearsets on the mainshaft.
