You proberly have a bad wheel sensor that is causing the problem. When this light is one, you don't have the ABS braking feature in operation. You should have brakes, just not ABS. ABS braks are a saftey feature that helps prevent wheel skids on slippery roads.

Hi hoping one of you's could help me. I have a year2000 lexus is200 the problem is the abs light comes on with the Trc light flashing which cancels out any trc. It will stay on for a while the cancel...

The TCS gets it's signals from the ABS, so if the ABS detects a problem it'll automatically shut off the TCS. The ABS problem can be a bad wheel speed sensor or corrosion on the "tone" wheel. Get the trouble codes read so you'll know which wheel is causing the problem. The knocking is the ABS system working as if you're going into a skid, so the computer is getting a bad signal. Where is ABS modual and how do you know it is defective, my ABS, anti lock break lights keep coming on in my truck.

What you need to do is get the code or codes. This is the best way to find out what is causing the light to come on.The ABS module is not usually the problem. The usual problem is the speed sensors in the front hubs.Which means you need to replace the hub assembly. They are not cheap. That`s why your better off getting the codes. This will tell you which wheel it is.The only problem I`ve seen with the ABS module is that they will keep running and kill the battery. If yours was doing this you would know because you will hear it running. It is just under the drivers seat on the inside of the frame under the vehicle.Hope this helps.Good luck.

My abs light, trac light and service soon light comes on after driving the car for awhile. i have checked the wheel bearings and they seem to be ok. if it's just a bad abs sensor what happens if i don't...

Nothing. You will just be operating a vehicle with conventional hydraulic brakes, san abs and traction contol. There are many other things that can cancel your abs, and turn on the light besides a faulty sensor, although a sensor, or sensor wiring are by far the most common causes. Is your red brake light on also? If it is, this indicates a dangerous hydralic fault that will also turn on the abs light, but absolutely must be addressed for your safety. (and everyone else's) Good luck, and contact me with any ore questions!

What are the symbols abs and (!) mean

this is indicative of a failure in your braking system, detected on the electronic portion. if the ABS light is on, that means the computer will have logged a code, and having the vehicle scanned is the first place to start in the diagnostic procedure. this will narrow down the area of the problem, and then the diagnostics can begin. good luck!

Abs lights keep coming on? 2006 Monte Carlo. 44,000 miles. Started car this morning, antilock brake yellow light and ABS yellow light both came on. No change in braking performance I can feel. Is it under...

yes it would be under warenty go to the dealer and have them look at it if you need help after that contact me for more help. It could get expensive to fix yourself and it takes special tools to work on abs, it could be as simple as a bad wheel sensor and has to be fixed and the light reset, the dealer has a computer to test and fix it and it would be no cost to you, the only thing they would not cover is if the brakes needed replaced but the ABS would be covered, and hurry time is short for Gm.

Transmission

First as ABS goes. The abs light will come on for a number of things. The sensor is ajar. The sensor failed or they aren't wired.
secondly the whole ABS unit might be bad. Getting the ABS mo dual is very expensive and to honest you don't need ABS. all ABS does is replace driving skills you should have all ready. on my blazer i have it disconnected because i felt it was more dangerous then old fashioned breaks. Also when your bake pads are shot this could also trip the sensor. As far as the transmission goes there is a sending unit that reads the information and relays it back to the instrument cluster. He could of very well not wired it correctly or at all.
