Question about 1985 Chevrolet Chevy
I am assuming that you CAN physically shift it into R but that it "won't" go. 1st check your transmission fluid level, hot at idle park brake set on a level surface. Add fluid as necessary if down to add, chances are however if the vehicle moves in all other forward ranges you probably have a reverse servo seal problem, time to take it to a good trans guy and have it rebuilt.
