Question about Ford Focus

1 Answer

Hello, I just bought a focus 2005 and when the car is cold during the mornings I have a lot of problems to go in the reverse gear mainly but in general I find it hard to go into any gear also. After a while during the use of the car gears become so soft that I can't understand that much of a contrast. PLEASE HELP !!!

Trans issues, is why they sold it to you

Changed the transmission fluid on my automatic, not vehicle wont go into reverse.

Are you sure you put the correct amount in? Sounds like when it's cold the fluid settles on the bottom. But when it warms up, the fluid starts to travel and not be enough to lube and cool the gears. Check you owners manual or compare what you took out with the amount you put in.

Why is my power steering hard to turn right in the morning during cold days

Sounds like combination of steering box ready to fail along with fluid change in power steering due.

2005 Ford Focus wont go into reverse or over drive. What can i do

If it is a manual/stickshift might be the gear selector rather than being the transmission itself. I think fifth and reverse are opposite iach other.
Whatever the case it will need the attention of a competent mechanic hut it does not sound very serious at the moment

I have a 06 ford focus with automatic transmission when it gets cold reverse don't work until you drive it about 2 miles or so drive always works good when it is above 40 reverse works good also

okay your transmission is either bad or something is wrong with the gearing. Sometimes the teeth that make the gears turn chip and it slips and wont let you in reverse. But when they warm up the metal expands and allows your vehicle to go into reverse. Hope this helps ;)

My 2005 Saturn ION will not start once in a while. It's random. Checked for loose wires, etc... everything is good??? If i wait about ten minutes and then try it, it will start up.

My 2005 did the same thing. It was the ignition switch. Happened mostly when it was a cold morning. Seems to be a common problem.

Heater in 2005 Focus

Is the interior blower working? I also had this problem, if your blower isnt working check resistors for blower speed then the blower itself
