Question about 2004 Honda Accord

1 Answer

My 2004 honda accord recently began having problems running the air conditioning. I turned my car on the other morning and the A/C does not blow air. However, control lights indicate the air should be on. This holds true for defrost, max ac and all AC settings. Everything else with the car is running normal. Is this is a simple fix, such as a fuse, or am I looking at a new blower motor?

Had a similar problem on my Accord. I did some research and found out that the blower resister/transistor/controller (it's called a few different things depending on where you look) was fried.

It is located under dash on the passenger side behind the lower panel. It's attached to the firewall with two screws. You can't miss it.

The part is about $85 and I was going to do it myself, but I couldn't get my hands in there to undo the faulty unit. The part number you are looking for is: 79330-SDA-AO1.

sounds like the blower motor starting to go out or a short but a short would usually blow a fuse.

Check for 12v at compressor clutch. If good, check for open in electromagnetic COIL. Available separately and easy to replace. Buy online for $77 verses $135 over the counter.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord and the Driver's side

the a/c system may be low on a charge. have a a/c shop ck it. if its low, have them ck for a leak. if unable to locate a leak, they may need to rechagre it, and add a UV dye and you may have to bring it back several weeks later.

Good Morning,
Check for moisture in the Distributor and use a blow dryer to dry it out. You may want to consider changing your Spark Plug wires to a "Moisture Resistant" type. Please let me know if this helps you and thank you for using FixYa!
