Question about 1991 Ford Thunderbird

1 Answer

I have a 91 ford thunderbird sport V8 5.0L HO Recently I have noticed a smell of burning plastic and small white whisps of smoke coming out from under the engine at red lights/ after driving. The smell usually occurs after driving 90-110 km/h. It seems to be coming from the engine close to the firewall. Any idea as to what the problem is and how much it might be to repair?

88 thunderbird white smoke and water coming from tail pipe

Possibly a blown head gasket, letting coolant into the cylinders to be burned. White smoke is usually coolant burning. Have the engine's compression tested to verify.

My 1994 Ford Thunderbird now smokes when I start it - no noises in the engine, but smokes like crazy. Check engine light is one now?

state what color the smoke is. White smoke is antifreeze. Gray smoke is fuel, and black smoke is oil. Also have the computer scanned so you know why the light is on.
