Remove the duct that goes to the throttle body (engine or filter box end does not matter) Around the perimeter of the top of the box, locate the clips that hold it down and disengage them. Remove the breather hose at the box and lift the cover off. Remove and replace filter and reverse process to re install the cover etc.

Can't figure out how to open the housing for the engine air filter on a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Do you see steel clips or screws holding the top cover on the air filter box? there should be a big hose and 2 smaller ones on the top to remove,if you cant open the lid far enough to replace the filter! It may be a flat type filter.

What kind of fees should I expect for a transmission fluid and filter change for an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Well there is always 2 options; You can flush it which would be around $150-$250 depending on the shop, or you can do what we refer to as a spill and fill, the transmission pan is removed and the filter is changed, normally $100-$200. The flush removes all the the fluid in your transmission, and trans cooler (about 12 Quarts). The other option only removes about 4 quarts of the transmission fluid and is not very effective.

I am trying to change the air filter on a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. Where is it located?

filter is inside the box at the end of the long 4" diameter black varigated hose that runs from the throttle body on the engine to the front of the car. Usually there either clips or screws around the perimeter to remove the top portion to get at the filter, On some it's easier if you remove the hoses from it first.

Spark plugs

I own a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V-8 It took me 3 1/2 hours to complete changing the spark plugs. First one must remove the cover from the air filter and to the carbuetor there are two bolts on each side of the cover over the engine then the driver side is easy to remove the boots on each plug the passenger side is pretty easy except for the last plug all the way on the back this one took me 1/2 to remove because there is lots of obstructions like the power steering line and the oil line and electrical cables.

They are on the heads, follow the plug wires.

1990 jeep cherokee 4.0 hard cranking problem

Try replacing crankshaft sensor. Cost is about 45 dollars and not hard to get to. Facing the engine from the front of the car it is located on the right side half way down the block. One small bolt and an electrical connection to remove. Be sure and keep white cover on sensor clean when installing new one. Available at local parts dealers .
