The clacking noise is from the ocv is sticking its like a solniod only oil run's thru it, it also will make your car run like its missing an have bad coils . There located at the back of the head drivers side on both heads it has a wire connected to them and one ten millmeter bolt just pull them out and ether replace them or go to autozone and by some brake cleaner an spray them off real good that go for the ocv filter's to its located at the bottom of each head just under the ocv it looks like a plan bolt its a 14millmeter unscrew it an the little filters come rigth out with some needle nose pliers. Any problems let me no an i'll try to answer them for you.

Have a 2001 toyota avalon xls. P1354 manufacturer's control code comes up--engine light is on. Does this have to do with oil pressure??

P1354 is VVT system malfunction bank 2. VVT it Variable Valve Timing. Your ECM controls 2 OCVs (Oil Control Valves) which corrects engine valve timeing for driving conditions. there is a possibility that a pice of debrise has plugged the oil passage in the Bank 2 OCV. If you do not maintain good oil health ( changing your oil and oil filter regularly ) oil will sludge and harden in areas. a pice of this can become dislodged and travel through your oil system and cause a blockage in the system. Other possibilities are, Faulty wireing to the OCV, Faulty OCV, or Faulty ECM

Check engine light code p1349

Code P1349 VVI Malfunction Bank 1. Bank 1 the difficult side where the intake body is.

This could be from a slight misfire from poor air. Ensure that the gas cap is on fully and not airtrapped.

Hi My car shows Engine check and Traction off

check your engine codes. You may have a problem with your oil control valve. It happened on my 99 ES300 and once I replaced it it ran fine. What you want to look for is a specific bank misfiring. If your misfires are on 2, 4, 6 or 1, 3, 5 then you most likely need to replace the oil control valve. Bank1 is at the rear of the car and bank 2 is at the front. Make sure that if this is the problem you get the correct bank since they are not interchangable. The part is right on top and held on by one screw...took about 5 minutes to replace. Gl.

1999 Dodge Caravan with a code 23. What does that

OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description
A P0020-023 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module). That consists of an oil control valve (OCV), also called a solenoid valve and other components. Basically the check engine light and associated P0020-023 trouble code means that the voltage in the circuit has fallen below a set limit for a specific amount of time (varies by make/model/engine). Bank 2 is the side of the engine that doesn't contain cylinder #1.

Causes
A code P0020-023 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty oil control valve (OCV)
  • Open or short in the VVT/VCT circuit
  • Open or short in the OCV / solenoid valve
  • Damaged computer (PCM)
Possible Solutions
Some recommended troubleshooting and repair steps are:
  • Carefully inspect the Bank 2 VVT/VCT system circuit wiring and connectors, repair as required
  • With a warm engine, test the operation of the OCV, replace/repair as needed
