Question about 2010 Volkswagen Golf

1 Answer

I would like to know how to adjust the VW Golf Mk6 Head light housing (which is attached to the body structure of the vehicle) Surely there is an adjustment screw that is attached to the light housing that you can set the housing up and down ( not the auto adjustment switch located inside the car). Please advise. Thank you Darren.

Thank you! What should the distance be from the wall!

Open your hood and look in the back of the light housing. There is a white plastic bolt that you can insert an allen wrench into that will adjust your headlights up or down. Make sure you have a something to point your lights on so you can measure the beam direction

The technical legal specification in the USA for headlight height adjustment is 2.1" below the center at 25 feet and the right to left adjustment should be centered at 25 feet. On a level surface, park your vehicle 25 feet back from a wall. Measure distance from the ground to the headlight center, then measure that same distance up on the wall. Use tape for a level line on wall. Center of beam should line up with that line

Flashing red light on tempature gauge

That means low coolant level. Note that it might missing a lot more coolant that you think, best if the dealer checks it, because VW can use only the BLUE or PINK Pentosin-coolant (depending on your model) that is made by VW. If you mix it with the ordinary green-coolant available in auto stores, it will slowly but surely destroy the engine. Thats why many VW-owners have to repair the head-gasket after a while

Hi, my VW Golf (2001) is losing coolant through the overflow on the expansion tank? is this a blown head gasket or a faulty cap? Thanks.

VW have a big problem with their plastic water pump so I would first make sure if the radiator fan is working, the thermostat is in good order and radiator cap is good if all these things are in order and if the vehicle still heats up then look into the head gasket issue.

ETC light is on, engine has problems starting.

The EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) is the "fly by wire" system that controls the throttle, it took the place of the cable that went from the gas pedal to the throttle body on VW. If this light is on and there is also a P0102, MAF (Mass Air Flow) related code stored in the vehicle's computer, the EPC may be caused indirectly from a faulty MAF. If the EPC is on and there is no other codes stored, it could be a faulty electronic throttle body or need to be re-programmed. The vehicle's computer must recognoze the throttle body so when replacing it with new or used it will need to be programmed at the dealer. Recently I replaced a MAF (a common problem on VW's) on a VW Golf and when I cleared the code the EPC went off as well.

I have this buzzing problem with my vw citi golf 1.4i

Not sure what model your car is,but try checking the two oil sender units, one located onthe side of the cylinder head[gearbox side]and the other on the oil filter housing. Also have a mechanic check oil pressure, should be+-2bar pressure at idle.If everything checks out, including the wiring, try another instrument cluster..Good luck

Idling problem

There is no idle screw or adjustment . It is fully controlled by the ECU. The throttle body will probably need cleaning and resetting .

Halo lights for vw golf 1996

I ran into the same problem with my 1997 golf with a pair of halo projector lamps, i ended up going to the local hard ware store, getting about 8 screws 2 inches by 1/8 inch threaded with bolts to secure and washers (about the size of an u.s. quarter) to put in place for adjustments. you will need to bend one or two of your head light mounts (the metal where the light mounts to the car) out, so you can mount the light to the car. once u just bend the car mount from facing down to facing the front of the car, you will be able to secure at least 3 out of the 4 mounts, in my case i had to use a zip tie for the bottom-outside mount, but you might get lucky with yours.
