Hello there
Your dip stick is located in your engine compartment on the right. In the filler tube.
If is not there you will need to buy one.It is not to expensive.

metal flakes on the dip stick are not really an issue unless it has gotten to the crank sensor. That would cause the problem that you are talking about. The oil filter is supposed to catch that though.

I have 911 carrera 1995 I have noticed that the oil gauge is low down to red. I purchased a Gallon of oil and i put may be 3/4 of the gallon then checked while car running and seemed to me ok and also...

Check to see if there is white foam on the dipstick when you check the oil. If there is, then you have a cracked head or a broken head gasket. Antifreeze must be getting in the cylinders.

Where is the dis stick of the transmission fluid on a porsche boxter

isn't this a stick shift car? with 3 pedals on the floor, i.e. a clutch? if YES you don't have a dip stick to check, other wise it would be a red colored T-handle I would think under your hood

Oil level not regerstering

if you are certain of the amount of oil in the oil pan and it should read full, then the dip stick may have pulled up a bit, or the wrong tube is installed....crawl under and look at the base of the tube before you do any banging on it . if needed you can tap it down, hitting is squarely and gently on the end of the tube.....good luck

Cant find tranny dipstick

I am not sure if I remember or not , but if you were standing by the pass side tire lean over back of engine there should be 2 dip sticks the oil then right next to it but lower is the trans . you might have to reach your hand behind the pass side cyl head / intake and feel for it. and most mercedes do not come with dip sticks they have special caps on them that actualy break when removing . the dealer ships or mercedes service shops have the dip stick and new cap. so yours most likely will just have this cap not dip stick . I cant remember any late model that came with a dip stick . mercedes only wants certified techs even checking it.
