Question about Toyota Celica
Its allways and will be a forever problem. What I was told is there are bad piston rings on the early 1ZZ engines; nothing you do could change
that, unless you wanna swap out an '03 and up motor 1ZZ, that would fix
that problem. Its the material of the rings in teh early 1ZZ, you can tear it down and
rebuild it with new rings, while you are in there, might as well
replace all the bearings and gaskets.
But if your engine run good, and smooth... best thing is to check up and make sure you add oil as needed. Are you using reg motor oil, or the sythenic stuff?
Just try 10w-30 high mileage oil and see if oil consumption decreases.
