Yes get a replacement at a junkyard or on ebay. Make sure you isolate the battery from the car before you begin. get that camera phone out and take a few nice pictures of the wiring on the old one before you begin so you have a guide to put it back together.

96 Chrysler Concorde Power shutdown to my fuse box Inside

If you have lost ALL power to that interior fuse box, you have encountered either a large fuse blown under the hood, or perhaps a "fusible link" is blown. Otherwise significant corrosion has cut off the supply maybe near fuse box under hood.

If no blown fuses up front, get a partner to monitor that fuse box inside with a meter, while you begin moving the harnesses around that lead into the firewall or fender that are routing power to the inside fuse box.

Check for wire "chaffing" under hood along frame/ fenders/ etc. Even the large connector that goes through the firewall could have loose/ corrosion problem.

Follow wire diagram for your car....this could be a fast fix.

This is an unusual failure.

the fuse box under the hood that you have been advised to replace because of corrosion is probably not passing the current needed for what you want. I would have it replaced as advised then see if there were any problems.

Need to replace the fuse in space 19 in the under the hood fuse box of my 1999 Chevrolet Tracker>

Take off the negative battery terminal first. Use pliers to pull the fuse remnants out. If not enough room, try removing surrounding fuses. The fuse only has two spade terminals into the fuse block. Pull on them back and forth until loose.

Hello, check under the engine hood. There could be a couple of black boxes with lids on them. Inside of these boxes are some fuses and relays. Under the lids of these boxes will be description of what fuses and relays are located in the box. Also, look around and see if you can locate the wind shield wipers electric plugs. Check this plug for corrosion, if it is corroded then clean the contact and use some dielectric grease on this plug. GB...stewbison

Sounds like you have corrosion at the fuse connection, try taking a small wire item like an unfloded small paper clip to clean that connector in the fuse box and replace that fuse, be cafeful to disconnect the negitive [ - ] battery post before you try this.

My radiator fan doesn't work. could it be a fuse or should I replace the whole thing?

it could be a blown fuse, check the fuses in the fuse box under the hood,it also could be the temperature sensor that activates the fan is faulty or it could be a loose wire or a bad connection, the fan should have a connector plug on it so as it can be disconnected if it needs to be replaced pull that connector apart & check for corrosion,if it is a one wire connector run a wire from the positive terminal to the connector, if the fan is OK it will run if it has two wires run another one from the neg . terminal of the batt. check all other connector plugs.....hope this helps.....cheers

You have a short in your fuse box or wire harness at your fuse box. Inspect the fuse box under the hood and on the side of the dash and look for any signs of corrosion or damages. Repair or replace any damaged component found caused by corrosion or bad wire harness causing a short.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya

No power going to cigarette lighter in Nissan Murano '05

I troubleshot this issue and found the problem to be a defective power plug. There was no connection from the ground spade lug to the receptacle. The fix is easy. Just remove the plug, unplug the electrical connector and replace the bad unit. I found a similar one at Wal-Mart for under $6 that had a compatible electrical contact configuration.
This seems to be a design problem with the power plug. There are no visible signs of contact burn or corrosion... simply an open on the ground side of the housing.
