This is a normal service engine light that is produced by the vehicals computer
It needs to be reset after any oil and or fluid change in this vehical all you need to do is to take it to a AUTOZONE OR any auto parts store that gives FREE diagnostics and have them hook up the hand held diagnostic computer and clear the code ok
Hope this is very helpful for you.

Not sure what car you have, but in my camaro I have to hold the odometer trip reset button down until it starts blinking and then stops.

A flashing oil light usally means low oil pressure. If the oil pressure drops below a set point the light will contiune to flash even if the pressure rises back up to normal until you resart the car. Start simple and check the oil. If low then add. Keep an eye on it, if your losing it, its going somewhere, exhaust, or out a seal or if you went to jiffy lube, probably out of the oil filter due to it not being tightened. If oil is ok, your oil pump may be bad. That job is a little complex.
