Question about 1995 Jaguar XJ6
The immobilizer if it has one, only gets tripped off in a bump, crash, or getting towed. Does the car have an anti theft device? Is there a key or some type of chip that falls out? If the whole car is dead, I would suspect that, if it just won't crank, then I would suspect the battery, if it lights up and does nothing, I would suspect the computer. If it cranks but doesn't start, then the coils, Or the oil is low and the fuel pump won't kick on. You have to start digging in there. You put in a new starter thinking it was the starter? Get a voltage tester and check the battery, it has to maintain 13.5 volts at all times, check the fluids in the battery. Get it cranking then squirt some fuel into the intake and see if it will fire, pull a plug and see if you have spark, the older cars had a thing called an ignitor under the seat. You might have one and when it goes, it goes. Check it out, hope this helps.
