Is your ac fan coming on when you turn on the ac? If it only getting hot when you turn ac on I'd say your ac fan isnt coming on so check your ac relay and ac fuses. Is your ac blowing cold

My car is overheating a lot and i dont know why???

do you have a temp gauge or light? make sure the radiator is full, if you have a gauge start the engine and let it idle for about 15 to 30 minutes and see how far the gauge will go up but if it almost reach the dangerous zone turn the AC on and see will the gauge move back down to normal zone if the gauge do move down that mean the cooling fan is working with the AC on but if the gauge do not go down with the AC on that mean the cooling fan is not working you can check the cooling fan by connecting the red wire to the + post on the battry and the black wire to - post on battry and if the fan work it is good then check the cooling fan relay and wiring.

2002 Mini Cooper overheating when idling with the airconditioning on. Initially the air is cold and as the car engine temperature heats up the air conditioning gets warmer. Also, the radiator overflow cap...

Most cars have an 2 electric fans on the radiator. One will run when the coolant gets hot and the other will run when there is more cooling demand OR it will run when the AC is turned on. My guess is, the second fan is not running when your AC is. Your AC system creates heat of its own. The heat is removed through the condenser (radiator-like coil) which is usually located in front of your engine radiator. Without a fan the heat is transferred into your engine radiator causing it to over heat. This would explain why it overheats while idlling and not while driving. While driving, air is flowing through the radiator and condenser. to provide the necessary cooling. In short, check to see if both fans are running when the engine is hot and the AC is turned on.

IF CAR OVERHEATING WHILE SITTING STILL IN LONG TRAFFIC LINE.COOLANT FANS DONT TURN ON CHECK COOLANT FANS FUSES AND RELAYS.IF ALL IS GOOD.COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULTY.HOTWIRE COOLANT FAN TO MAKE ITS WORKING.IF NOT REPLACE FAN MOTOR.IF FAN WORKS WHEN HOTWIRED YOU HAVE SHORT IN WIRE OR CONNECTOR.IF COOLANT FANS RUN WHILE ENGINE OVERHEATING.YOU HAVE RESTRICTED CLOGGED RADIATOR CORES AND ENGINE BLOCK FULL OF LIME AND GUNK.IF YOU FLUSHED OUT RADIATOR AND ENGINE BLOCK.FRONT GRILLE WHERE AC CONDENSOR CORE FINS AND RADIATOR FINS CLEAN FREE FROM DEBRIS AND TRASH AND LEAVES.WHEN ENGINE COOL DOWN. CHECK ENGINE OIL ON OIL LEVEL DIP STICK. IF OIL LOOKS LIKE MILK SHAKE YOU HAVE BLOWN HEAD GASKET.

2007 Pacifica overheated. Outside Temp only 80. Doesnt appear that front fans are working and coolant level in resevior get higher.

Turn on the AC--it should start the radiator fans immediately. If nothing, check the fuse for the fans. The relay for the fans is a solid state device that is controlled directly by engine computer. The computer reads the coolant temperature sensor which tells the computer when to turn on the fans for usual cooling. Try to turn each fan manually (engine cool) and check for bad bearings, or fan blades--both fans should spin freely without any noise. If the fans come on with AC, then replace the temperature sensor which should be located near the attachment area of the upper radiator hose on the engine. It will have a single wire attached, and look like a small brass plug with threads. Watch the engine temperature for a while after the repair as the overheating may have damaged the thermostat element. Hope this helps!

Radiator fan not turning on 02 intrepid

maybe the sensor that turns on the fans might of gone bad . . and turning on the ac when engine is gettin hot is not going to help instead turn on the heater to reduce the heat , also overheating causes hoses and gaskets to get soft and get destroyed

Radiator coolant fan

Some car designs only have one radiator fan as opposed to 2 fans. Typically the second smaller fan is specifically for the AC when its turned on. But with the larger single fan design, its turns on when the AC is on regardless. Now if the fan doesnt come on at all at any other time... like to prevent the car from overheating, you may want to check the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Its located on the engine and easy to replace. Can be tricky to find. They only run 20 bucks thankfully.
