2001 Volkswagen passat 1.8l turbo the o ring on sensor was broke so water kept leaking out got that fixed but now the car will not keep no water in the coolant resovoir tank

Is your car overheating ? Might not be related at all. Run your Passat until it reaches operating temperature and check to see if the fans behind your radiator turn on. The temperature sensor might be bad, when you replaced the O ring, did you also replace the sensor ?

Overheating

WHEN CAR STARTING OVERHEATING MAKE SURE COOLANT LEVEL DIDNT GET TOO LOW. IF NOT I WOULD REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP IF OVERHEATING WHILE SITTING IDLING COOLING FAN NOT COMING ON.CHECK COOLING FAN FUSE AND RELAY IF ALL IS GOOD.CHECK COOLING BY HOTWIRING IT.IF RUNS YOU HAVE A BAD COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OR FAULT IN WIRE CIRCUIT.IF FAN DONT RUN WHEN HOTWIRED REPLACE FAN MOTOR.IF CAR STILL KEEP OVERHEATING CHECK ENGINE OIL LOOKS LIKE MILK BLOWN HEAD GASKET.IF OIL LOOKS OKAY YOU NEED RADIATOR AND ENGINE FLUSHED OUT.

On my 1.8 volkswagan passat AWM engine, the camshaft drive chain tensioner is knocking, the engine has plenty of oil reaching the top,and the engin runs good.what would make it knock so loud?

I bet your car sounds like a diesel without the gas savings benefits. Your only solution is to replace the cam tensioner! Call VOA to complain about the manufacture defect.

MY 2000 VW Passat Temperature Gauge rises to 90 but doesn't go above when the car overheats. What could be the problem?

faulty temperature sensor locate it going into the block and replace its located on the block itself usually drivers side or in the front has 1 wire coming out from it ...as far as overheating is concerned does the fan relay kick in and possibly you need the thermostat changed or is there enough radiator coolant in the radiator .
