Could be, but check for bent wheel, out of balance tires first. If cv joint is bad it usualy will make a clicking noise when ou turn left or right.

It could be a cv joint,m i would also check for an out of round tire or maybe you need balancing, start with checking the tires for a bad belt ( out of round) this is very common, if you spin the tire and see if theres a hop in it.

Replace axle but not cv joints

"What we have here is a failure to communicate". The axle comes with CV joints on the end. You will be buying the rebuilt assembly. Both axle and CV joints will refer to the same part in a front wheel drive application.

Recently had a speed sensor replaced, now I need the cv joint replaced same spot. Coincidence or related?

Depending on where you took the truck to be serviced, they may have just repacked the wheel bearing and inspected the cv joint when they replaced the speed sensor, but if it was going bad already that would have to have been a major overlook. Unfortunately, if the boots on the cv joint are good and not cracked or loose, there are no other indications of a bad joint other than noise in the front end while driving. Are you sure the cv joint is bad? What are the indications you are having?
