On my 2007 Eos the manual says: with ignition off press and hold the "0.0" trip reset button located on the right side of speedometer then turn on the ignition and release the button and then within 20 seconds press the clock "min" button.
"service now" light is now reset.

When the mechanic did the service he is suposed to reset that light ask hem to do it this has to be done with no extra charge
and the service now is just telling you that the car needs an oil change if the place you are taking the car to, are not resting the light then they are not doing a profetional service have you car take to a diferent shop
also if you still have the owners manual it will tell you how to reset the light

  • You really need not worry if its from VW. Just tell the managers that the job was done in an imperfect fashion.
  • If you have used any other mechanics to do it then, VW Passat of yours can't be fixed with cheap expense
  • Please tell me about your location and I will help you, Insha Allah

Vw Jetta engine light

false When the engine light came on it is telling you that there is a serious problem occurring in the engine management system or CPU. The correct procedure is to run the fault codes to find out the faulty sensor/servo. Check coolant level at the radiator cap. Fix any faults and then have a code reader used to reset the engine light

I have conflicting advice as to whether i should be using synthetic or standard oil. please advise

VW group have TWO service regimes,annually/10k or extended ( when the service indicator shows when you need to service it).this is set when the dealer supplies the car cannot be reset after.VW group products fit 5/30 fully synthetic when new and the type of oil for services is determined by the service type,I.E. annual/10k services, use 10/40 semi synthetic and for extended/20k services use 10/40 fully synthetic.check the oil every 500 miles as ALL VW will use oil.if you bought the car used, then, rather than use the service indicator, do an oil change EVERY year and use semi 10/40.if a dealer services the car the service indicator should be reset EVERY time.

My check engine light has gone on about 13 different times after i bought the car. i bring it to service every time and they fix something small then right again its comes back up less than a week later...

your dealer is not reseting it to the next service due.assuming you have just had a full service.
some "dealers" have not got the vw computer to reset.
