Question about 1996 Toyota Corolla
I tried to open tha tail light to replace bulb. I open two external screw and one bolt internal.but fail to open two pushing plastic lock.without that i can't open tail light. Can u assist me how to open that two lock?
1. Use a "star" screwdriver to unscrew the two black screws on the outside.
On the inside if there is a canvas remove this by gently unscrewing the two black plastic screws
2. Use a No. 8 spanner to remove the nut on the inside.
3. Pull gently the whole casing containing all the rear lights(brake/turn
4. Since you already oend the casing, you might as well make sure the rest ofthe bulbs are good.
5. Determine which bulb needs replacement by switching your lights on and have someone step on the brakes for you.( with the ignition turned on)
6. Remember not to lose the screws Replace everything as it was

Remove the lower trim piece by pulling, CAREFULLY toward teh rear of the car. Then you can get a beter grip with your hands and remove the light assembly. You have already removed the two phillips screws on the outside and the nut inside the trunk. The plastic posts on the side panel are holding the clips the light assy slides into rather that the light itself. Pul the entire assembly CAREFULLY to the rear.

Yes by pulling the lower panel in 1996 corolla I got a good grip on pulling the tail light panel. If your black screws and nut from inside is open than give it good pull towards rear side and it comes out and nothing breaks as someone would worry. Thanks

I had this problem on a 1994 Camry. You only need to push the top one out.Use a pair of pliers to squeez the two plastic hooks together and push out.You can now access the bulbs."May the force be with you."Do or do not there is no try"
