I tried to open tha tail light to replace bulb. I open two external screw and one bolt internal.but fail to open two pushing plastic lock.without that i can't open tail light. Can u assist me how to open that two lock?
Remove the lower trim piece by pulling, CAREFULLY toward teh rear of the car. Then you can get a beter grip with your hands and remove the light assembly. You have already removed the two phillips screws on the outside and the nut inside the trunk. The plastic posts on the side panel are holding the clips the light assy slides into rather that the light itself. Pul the entire assembly CAREFULLY to the rear.
Yes by pulling the lower panel in 1996 corolla I got a good grip on pulling the tail light panel. If your black screws and nut from inside is open than give it good pull towards rear side and it comes out and nothing breaks as someone would worry. Thanks
I had this problem on a 1994 Camry. You only need to push the top one out.Use a pair of pliers to squeez the two plastic hooks together and push out.You can now access the bulbs."May the force be with you."Do or do not there is no try"

1) Open trunk
2) Remove small round plastic access panel with a flat tip screw driver by prying open
3) Remove flat tip screw holding tail light assembly
4) Remove tail light assembly by pulling outward, careful not to break plastic guide/nub
5) Disconnect wiring connectors
6) Remove plastic housing access plate on back of tail light assembly by twisting/turning tabs until they click and then lift access plate from tail light assembly
7) When viewing the the bulbs, the turn signal bulb is the bottom left bulb
8) Install in reverse order, ensuring tail light seal seats properly during installation
In order to change the bulb you must dismantle the tail-light assembly from the vehicle. In common cases, this is an easy procedure. First, open the trunk. Second, look behind the tail-light and look for any screws that may be in the bottom of the trunk behind the tail-light assembly (some carpeting may hide screws). Third, unscrew any screws, once all visible screws are off, and the assembly won't easily come off, there may be push in connectors, if so give the assembly a hard tug back and the assembly should pop off. Fourth, you will see the stock bulb connector wiring with the bulbs, simply turn the bad bulb by the fitting 1/4 counter clockwise and it should come out of the assembly. Fifth, simply pull out the bulb from the adapter, and push in the new one, the install procedure is simply reverse in steps. Good Luck.
If there are visable screws around the tail lite lens yes they come out and just screw off the bulbs socket than the bulb,,,If no visable screws than the should be a panel on in side of vehcle back side that comes out for access to the lights.
If this is helpful, please vote for my answer:
1 Open the trunk and pull up the carpet in the trunk.
2 Remove the screw bolts that hold the trim piece to the back of both of the tail light housings.
3 Remove the trim backings to expose the tail lights.
4 Remove the electrical plug running to the bulb's ballast. Squeeze the top of the connector's release tab and remove the plug.
5 Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the housing.
6 Remove the screw bolts on the inside of the trunk that hold the tail light housing to the body.
7 Pull the tail light housing off.
8 Replace bulb with same
Remove the interior on the rear body panel, you will see 2 black wing nuts that can be hand turned to remove the tail light plus there might be a additional two screws or bolts on the outside inner of the taillight as you open the trunk lid. 4 in total. slide the light out and replace the burned out light bulb. and reverse the removal instructions Good Luck
Open the tailgate and remove the two screws on the inside of the tailgate wall which hold the tail light assembly. Then pull the whole tail light away from the truck. There will be a couple of plastic pins holding it on. Gently pry those out with a screw driver if they don't come by themselves. When the light mechanism is free, push in and twist the bulb socket release tab and it should release the bulb from the assembly. Take the bulb out of the socket and replace. Twist and push the socket back into the tail light mechanism. Push plastic pins back in and reinstall the two screws. Test signal and brakes.
Once you open the trunk you need to unscrew the 2 little black knobs
that hold the cargo nets on. This will release the truck carpeting.
Pull the carpeting back and you will see the gray metal around the
backside of where the taillights are. There are two nut/bolt combination that you will need to unscrew (If these are not too tight
and use a regular pair of pliers to grip them). Once
these two nuts/bolts are removed push on the screws that they were
attached to... This will push the entire tail light out of its place on
the back side of the car and you can pull it out now to get to the
lights. There are 3 lights that will come out if you turn the black
fittings and then pull out.
