I would suspect you have mixed the plug wires up or set the gap incorrectly. Here are photos of the wiring diagram for the 5 different engines installed that year. I may not get them all on this post. If not I will add them. I just put new spark - 51278a3.png 59f9d12.png 1bc954c.png d3be90f.png

Are your Plugs gapped to the right Spec? It also helps to change your oil, change your air filter, and check your fuel filter. Do you have fuel Injection? You may want to check to see if there is any clogs, You can run a F Injector cleaner treatment as well. You should be getting a bit better gas mileage. Good Luck!

I put diesel in our unleaded VW Eos . We have drained the tank , put a new fuel filter on and put new unleaded fuel back in , now it will not fire . Any ideas ??

You need to bleed your fuel line. Diesel leaves a thin coat of oil and this needs to be removed via bleeding the line in order to get a high enough octane level that will be combustible and burn off any other residue that could be left with inside the cylinder itself.

Pull your plugs and soak them in 70% or higher isopropyl rubbing alcohol to remove the oil that has covered the plugs themselves.

Also, make sure to put in some jet cleaner to clean your fuel jets so they will push enough gasoline for the engine to run properly.

Hope this helps.

My car turns over but just won't start

Check for gas and spark. To check gas, turn on the key and listen for a wirring sound coming from the fuel tank for a few seconds indicating pressure is building up. To check spark, pull off a plug wire and place the end near the engine. Turning over the engine should produce a spark.

I ran out of gas on my chevy silverado 1500 v6 and tried to restart it, and burned out my fuel pump. I replaced my fuel pump but it still won't start. I tested it, and gas is getting up to the point where...

I doubt running out of gas burned up the pump. A scanner doesnt say anything, it puts out a trouble code, what is the code. do you have spark at the spark plugs? if not check the Crankshaft position sensor. What is the fuel pressure?

1998 2.4 starts but idles bad the #2 plug not firing the gas.

black smoke is usually fuel...white is usually coolant...you may have a warped cylinder head or some other mechanical problem. do a compression test. If you disable the #2 injector does smoke continue? if it does, it's not fuel. When you remove #2 spark plug, is it wet? if so what's on it?
