It seems you could have a fault one of these:
1. The crank angle sensor.
2. The camshaft Position sensor.
3.The MAP sensor.
4. The Control module for the Keyless entry alarm if one is fitted to this vehicle.

Get these areas checked and let me know if you need more information.

Do you have an alarm system in this vehicle.
If the sensors in the door locks and the ignition switch assembly may not be switching the alarm system off correctly until you have turn the key back on again then it switches off.

Ok the next thing is to check the voltage to the ignition system and all connectors. The the ignition module checked also and check the distributor cap for pitting of the center electrode in the distributor cap.
If all this is 100% then you need to check connections to the ECM as well as voltage supply and signal voltage from the distributor to the ECM and from the sensors to The ECM and then from the ECM to the distributor.

This is a very big job to do but if you do each area bit by bit you can isolate the problem.

Or the best thing to do is get a OBII scan tool and extract any fault codes which will be in the ECM data system.

Ignition module may be heat failing. Does it have spark when it spins over but will not run ? Does the tachometer register when spinning it over when it does not want to run ?

Hi! I had the exact same problem with my jeep before. The wiring (located on the back wall on passanger side to the left) You will see three sets of plugs with a lot of wires on them. I had to get everyone replaced and the wires rewired and sautered together. My truck would backfire so bad it busted my muffler 3 times!! So, try that and I think it will solve the problem.

I have a 93 jeep grand cherokee larado have replaced alternator, starter, battery, coil, still has no spark got power to everything coil has power at it but nothing comes out of it repaced cap and rotor...

The only thing left to replace would be the electronic trigger module which is mounted inside the distributor. If this module is bad it won't switch the coil on and off to produce spark.

93 jeep grand cherokee won't start. It turns over but doesn't start. It gets gas..i have replaced the spark plugs, coil, distributor cap, rotor, and wires.I have an optima battery which is still working...

If you have no spark, the most likely problem is a bad crankshaft position sensor. it is mounted on the bellhousing. below intake/exhaust manifold. held in by 1 bolt. A new CrankShaft position sensor should come with a small pice of heavy paper/ thin cardboard to use to set proper air gap between flywheel and sensor.

Not sure why you disconnected the battery to replace plugs, but try locking and unlocking the drivers door using the key. That should re-set the security system.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't start

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

Back up a minute...Do you have spark from the coil wire? (juice from coil) If so, change or check rotor and cap (wires do not all go bad at same time so unless they are wet, likely at least good enough to start engine)
