Question about 2003 Ford Explorer
Put a volt meter on the battery and start the vehicle, see if the alternator is charging to the battery,it should read 14.25 volts with all lights and blower off,and should not be less than 13.75 volts, with headlights on,and ac on high blower motor,it should read 13.65 volts,to 14.25 volts. Also check all fuses to make sure they are not blown, and make sure the large wire on the alternator shows 12 volts or more with the key off.If this wire does not show voltage,or less than battery voltage(12 volts) then that wire is not connecting to the battery positive side.

SOURCE: car battery keeps draining while
Test Voltage @ the back of alternator, and all grounds to body and engine.
If you have 14+ @ back of alternator but 12 @ battery the wire off the back (Im talking abought the single larger one) may be broke

Look at the connecting block and wires.
Not sure about this but it sounds as if a wire is not connected properly. Some have a single wire not with the block. It may even be a separate earth wire

Testimonial: "THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE WIRE HAD AKNICK IN IT, AND IT WASN`T GETTING A GOOD CONNECTION. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE HELP. OJACK."
mcdevito75 here, The replaced alternator should have a warrantee, bring it back to the shop that replaced it. If you did the work yourself and even if it's a rebuilt, you should still be able to exchange it. Some manufactureres recommend a new alternator and not rebuilt, plus if you"ve added any moe electrical items you"ll need a stromger alternator (higher amp).
