SOURCE: blend door actuator on a 99 expedition

In order to replace the blend door actuator motr dribe u must remove the entire dash assembly, I strongly suggest buy a factory service manual for this job which takes around 12 hours to complete, also take pictures of connections u are not sure of before u disconnect them./

SOURCE: how to replace blend door actuator in a ford

I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.

HOW TO REPLACE THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR

i've done this and i'm sorry you have to - it's not quick and easy. the dash must be removed. the module sits on top of the heater box. i found a Lincoln shop manual for the 97 town car on ebay that was very helpful with step by step disassembly and some pictures. i'd recommend it for sure.
good luck

Heater does not work, doors open ok but no heat

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

My ac line gets cold but on the inside of the car hot air blows out. what's wrong with my ac.

It is a actuator motor on the inside of the dash ,mounted on the blower box,the dash will have to be removed to replace it.The actuator motor controls the temp door, and it is not moving the temp door.If this was helpful,at all, please rate, and thank you.

MY TEMP BLEND MODUAL IS BAD WHERE IS IT LOCATED IN THE DASH OF A

the part u are referring to is the temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is about center of air ducting, in order to access the part u must remove the entire dash assembly, not a job for a DIYer, 12-15 hour job.

Get lots of uncontrollable heat only. Could it be blend door?

Yes, this 'could' be the Blend Door Actuator. Most of the time when the Actuator in this car breaks, you can hear it (thedoor) slopping around and heat intensity varies a bit.

Here's a write-up on that situation:
