Change the bulb from the inside of the trunk.

Invest in a Haynes or Chilton's manual for referrence, it helps.

Inside the trunk, left or right, you should see the wires going to the light. There will be a connector holding the bulb in place. Remove the buld by turning it right or left to release.

Good luck and don't forget to vote.

Shifter stuck in park

Had this happen on 2 separate Ford Explorers. On one the problem was solved by simply pushing on the vehicle and rolling it about 8" until it locked into park. Had to do this a few times when stopped on level ground and the vehicle had not actually clicked into park. Then mysteriously the problem went away.

On the second vehicle the device in the steering column that actuates the little stop had to be replaced. We did go ahead and replace the brake pedal switch at the same time just as a precaution. On this Explorer the driver had broken the stop by forcing the shifter out of park. This caused the replacement to be slightly more difficult.

ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH TURN SIGNALS,EMERGENCY FLASHERS,PARKING LIGHTS

this car have DRL? day light running lamps?>? option
or manditory in canada. do tell !

so the fuses blew again, and you didnt look?
id fix either park/ hazzards.first
both work with key in pockets for EMERANGACY uses, even
when 100 miles from car, keys in pocket, by DESIGN. (all cars)
so due to that fact its a very simple system.
but in 2007, they makers do all they can to make it more complex
than ever necessary, (saves money with copper)
the 2 features are hot all the time, that means they wire to the
battery directly with ONLY a fuse, to stop fires.
so id bet it blew the fuse (got trailer wiring hacks in back>?) collision damage not fixed right>?
do you have the factory trailer option?????

park seems best., easier
it has 2 fuses to the rear.
the PARK relay closes, and powers the fuse and then lamps.
so both cant blow. left and right are Fuse 7 and 9
the BCM , (body brain puter) energizes the park relay
so seems its not.
my guess is the BCM has lost power.

in the dealer they can scan for BCM errors. and say fast what is wrong.

the list for PARK dead.
1. Ineffective or missing relay. 1. Test and replace park lamp relay if required. 2. Ineffective control circuit. 2. Test and repair open park lamp relay control circuit if required. 3. Ineffective switch. 3. Test and replace multi-function switch if required. 4. Ineffective BCM inputs or outputs. 4. Use a diagnostic scan tool to test the BCM inputs and outputs. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
here is my list
all park lamps burned out, (no way) but had it happen in 1980.....ask how? (alternator went nuts to 30v)
relay park missing or bad. (pray)
the park switch( in combo-mult- section switch is bad) nah.
The combo failed to tell BCM of this state change (comm fails)
the BCM failed to hear the command.
the BCM is bad or lost power (fuses)
the BCM failed to close the park relay.

the BCM has 3 power fuses. fues 34 is hot all time, id bet that fuse
allows the BCM to turn on parks, at any time.
others are key power, fuse 22, and 13. to BCM

the back unlocks doors, and does so via FOBs. car locked and parked and no key in ignition, so again, fuse 34 rears ugly head

i hang hat on 34, but got tired, if reading 50 pages of power distrabution and comms.
it is very complex car, and one of the first cars to do this....

No tail lights

Power comes from 15A fuse 28 in the fuse junction panel. If 15A fuse 20 in the battery junction box is OK, Turning the headlamp switch to PARK position applies power to the park filaments of the combination rear park/stop lamps. Pressing the brake pedal applies 12V to the hi-mount stop lights and the stop filaments of the combination rear park/stop lamps.

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus whose parking lights will not turn off. Sometimes they just go off eventually, sometimes the battery has to die in order for them to turn off. How do I fix this?

Sounds like the light switch is not always switching off. Try getting at the back of the switch and figure out which wire goes to the park lights (probably one of the smaller wires, you can possibly identify the colour of the wire by removing the tail light cover and seeing which wire goes to the park light globe). Once you identify the wire switch the lights off (I assume the rogue park lights stay on) disconnect the wire. If the park lights go off, the fault almost certainly lies with the light switch. If the rogue park lights remain on then power is getting to the park light wires after the switch. You could try to find where the park light wires are touching live wires ( a difficult job) or cut the old wires off at the switch and the park lights and run new wires from the switch to the park lights.

HVAC air flow control

This is caused by the actuator mounted on the right side of the ducting under the dash on the right.
It is probably a cracked/split gear within the actuator housing.
The actuator is held on by two 5.5mm self taping screw bolts. the acuator itself is held together
by 4 posidrive screws. Carefully remove the actuator, undo the screws lift off the cover and inspect the n ylon gears looking for split/cracked gears.
Repair and replacement in reverse order. Do not power up the actuator until it is fully re-installed.
It is difficult to re-install if the acuator control is not in the neutral or horiztional position.
NB. removal & re-installation is difficult unless one removes rh side ducting and glove box (7 bolts)
and unclip the electrical circut box to the right of central duct-box.
