There is no mechanical choke mechanism on this new a model, its done by the e.c.m. computer in the vehicle, you would need to check this with a scanner tool or a dealer will need to connect their computer to the e.c.m. to change any parameters in the engine

Hi, Are you talking about automatic transmission. Normally Mazdas start to trouble above 100, 000 miles with automatic transmission.

My Mazda 2002 626 model car engine stops sometimes when I apply the break while I'm in "D" Mode. What could be the problem? Is it a IAC problem? Please let me know.

I'm not familiar with those cars, however I do have some ideas. I assume it's an electronically controlled transmission? If so the best probability is either a bad connection or damage to one of the wires, or a fault in the control unit. The reason I think this is it sounds like the bands are not disengaging from the wheels as they should. It could also be just mechanical, but probably the same reason. If it will let you shift into neutral when approaching a full stop (do this WITHOUT depressing the shift button, otherwise you could end up in reverse or park!) that might be at least a way to live with it for a while. I drop it into neutral all the time from drive, but not all cars will let you. The first thing I'd do though is check all the wires and most of all plugs that lead to the ECU or transmission. One last thing, I'm assuming it chokes down when you reach a full stop only? If it randomly chokes with a light brake application and you're still rolling, that points to something wrong with the engine electrical systems more than the trans. Good luck

I have a 1998 626 Mazda and it's been having some occasional jerking.

have the fuel pressure tested to be sure its at the correct psi and does not loose pressure even after turning off engine. is the check engine light on? if yes have it scanned and that will help to pinpoint the problem...

When i start the car up in the morning the auto choke really revs up for about 2 min. Anyway i can remove the auto choke?

If it has an elec choke which most do unless you have a manual choke cable installed in your vehicle you can disconnect the wire to it on your carb but this may make it difficult for you to start and keep your vehicle running when it's cold

Your carberater is having problems getting the correct amount of fuel.Either a line or fuel filter is clogged or you need to have your carb. rebuilt.

Have a 1985 mazda rx7 will not idle .. cold start ok when choke is on once warm stalls and will not idle

There is a throtle adjuster right behind the carb. You can adjust it with a screw driver. If you are not sure where it is, just have someone press to gas pedal and you will see it move. RPM's at idle should be around 1,000 when it is idle once it has warmed up. Once that car warms up the choke moves back in and the car is probably stalling because it is not running enough RPM's.

Is it a Gas Choke

how many miles on this car? providing the choke is all the way open at operating temps and the engine is still not smooth and the tune-up parts are new, i would search for a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake manifold and carb. using carb cleaner with engine running spray around intake and lower carb if idle changes, you have found a leak. make sure the choke is working properly!! dirty fuel tank is possible but not likely, with a tune-up i would assume the fuel filter was changed. was it dirty? was the timing checked? does car run well at speed driving down the road?
