We were having the same problem with our '94 Ranger 3.0L 4x4. After replacing EVERY possible thing and almost to the point of giving up....we replaced the fuel pump and it runs like a champ again!

Yes you have one and it runs about $15.00.
Looking for a picture for you but it should be in the engine compartment area, passenger side, just below the windshield on the firewall area...or JUST above it.
But looking for a picture for you. It states that you should change it about every 150,000 miles.

I had the same thing a couple of years ago I took it the dealer to fix it was a spring that is in the steering column have to remove tha airbag system to fix. If you try it your self be careful the bag can go off . I'm sure there is a way to disarm it maybe someone can post how to do that
